Sure. What or who says you can't?
Well by that measure, I could run it on Boston Cremes. No one's stopping me.

The key word was 'safely'.

Huh? Again, who says it is not safe? These are things you "think." I am saying manufacturers "know" such things by studying and testing. If they didn't want oil to go several or many years without being changed, don't you think they would say that in the manuual?

But they do.. Every manual I have seen says to check daily/some hour interval and replace at some hour interval or yearly otherwise.

Current Kioti is no exception. Tier 4 is check every 100, replace at 400 or yearly.

OK, if that is true we are just talking past each other and saying the same thing. The OP did not mention any such chronlogic statement being in his manual. And that is why i brought it up. 👍

So if I put say, 5hrs a year on my snowblower, I can safely go 20yrs between oil changes?

Thanks! Didn't know that! (y)
I would say you wasted your money on a tractor

Every other year maybe if enough hours. Gone to multiple years on the Tacoma and now 2nd year on both Mazdas. Just not putting the miles/hours on stuff.

Gotta ask. How often do cars in storage get their oil changed? One of mine was stored for 4 years. No oil change.

I put less than 500 miles per year on my '87 Jeep.
Change oil every 3 years+, or when the spirit moves me.

I have a troy-bilt tiller that i change the oil in every 5 years wether it needs it or not. Briggs I/C engine. Thing is now 17 years old running good.

Briggs manual suggests oil changes "50 hrs or every season" but i am hypocritical here and don't do it. Point is the oil still works for many years. Not many hours at all each year put on it.

I go by hours on tractors like I do miles on cars between oils changes. But if I dont reach the hours recommended I do yrly then.
Ive never left oil in longer than that due to moisture that collects in it.
