I am new to the whole compact tractor thing and was wondering if anyone make changeable front buckets for compact tractors. If you would remove the front bucket and replace it with different types or implements it would add a lot of uses for the FEL. I would be interested in something to scoop up brush or make small trenches and can not afford to buy a backhoe for just a few small jobs around the house.
Thanks

You can get Quick Attach attachments for more CUTs.

On my Kioti CK30HST fel the bucket only has 4pins thru the holes with hitch pin clips---pretty quick disconnecting I'd say.

Quick Attach buckets are common on tractors from 30hp and above, they use the same system that skid loaders use. On tractors below 30hp the QA system is usually not even an option. Some companies like ATI will offer a quick pin system for the smaller tractors that allow you to remove the bucket very easily, you simply pull a couple pins and the bucket comes off, however there are vew optional attachments for small tractors below 30hp. At 30hp on up you can usually get different types of buckets, grapples and pallet forks. Any tractor that does not have a QA system will have 4 pins that hold the bucket onto the loader.

I have 2 buckets, 6 1/2' snow blade, pallet fords, 3PH adapter, and grapple for my FEL. Some of the attachments were modified by me to fit. Kubota makes a quick coupler that allows changing attachments in a couple of minutes. ATI and others also make quick couplers that work on various manufactures FELs.

Here are examples of both of the ATI quick attach systems.

I recently had a skid steer system installed on my Kubota for a quick change of the bucket to a brush rake. You can find an outstanding brush rake at Rakemaster, John Lynn Welding in Perry, Florida, ( no web site). It is incredibly easy to change and quite functional. I can only walk about 20' at a time on crutches but I can change the bucket to the rake in about five minutes by myself. It should do the trick for you.

I depends somewhat on which tractor manufacturer you are talking about. John Deere puts a quick attach system on all of the compact tractors all the way down to the SubCUT 2210/2305 series. Most of the other brands do not start offering quick attach options until you get up to around 30hp or so.

That is one of the reasons that ATI has come out with so many different sizes and have added the more economical pin quick attach.

Crutches I also have the rakemaster from Lynn's, it has been great so far.

Have you looked at a Power Trac? They all have Quick Attach standard on all their tractors, regardless of size, though it is a proprietary setup (can't use skidsteer attachments, as is)...

They have 20 to 40+ attachments that hook up to their frontend loader mounts -- and many of them can be hooked up in seconds, without ever leaving the seat...

A word of caution for quick attach systems that adapt the FEL to skid steer implements. The adapter adds weight and moves the implement or bucket further away from the FEL arms. Probably not much of a factor for the larger CUTs but could significantly impact the lift capacity for the sub CUTs.

I have the QA on my DX40 loader, it is the quickest changout of implements, I have ever seen, I'll attach a pic of my Forks, which is one of the most versitile attachments, from moving brush, trees, and of course, stuff on pallets.
How it works is you drive up to the implement and hook the top edge to the under side of the lip, pick up the implement and push down 2 levers, all done! But the only issue with this system is that after getting it, you will have the overwhelming urge to buy a trench bucket, grapple bucket, forks, and anything else you can think of. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
