It has happened. A senior moment!

The trusty little Kubota B7100 has taken a ride to the Green house over in the valley and was replaced on the trailer by a fresher green 4200 with a model #7 backhoe and MMM. Quick attach bucket and HST also.

The replacement found getting into the trailer a very tight squeeze but did managed it. The power steering was a relief to an aching back and sore shoulders.

Tomorrow it may get a very slight workout. Never having operated a hoe before there is a good chance the air may be bluish at times as frustration is expressed.

Monday should see it headed to a welding shop for some additions to the bucket and perhaps a chain hook welded to the hoe bucket.

Then it will be out to the Play Farm to tackle a few jobs the little Kubota could just not master.

Now the big question is: If it gets parked among some evergreen trees will it ever be found again?

:D:D:D

1*Shouldn't be any worse than a Kubota amongst an orange grove.:D
2*I bet I'm a better BH operator than you are but that will probably change as soon as you get a little practice LOL:D
BTY Congrats.

Way to go Egon, congratulations.
You should get used to it in a jiffy. The backhoe will be a fun addition for you.
You're getting some hooks put on the bucket(s)? What about a toothbar? I know you do plenty of digging so it should come in handy too.

Now that you fellows mention it during the fall season I used to keep misplacing the Kubota in orange and red leafed trees.:D:D

Hopefully Monday I'll get it in for some bucket revisions. Chain hooks, grate across the top of the bucket so logs/rocks/etc can't roll off and come sit in my lap, two truck springs bolted to the bottom as forks and some reenforcement plate on the leading edges of the bucket sides. And a chain hook on the back of the hoe bucket.:)

Just for interest the dealer had the same model tractor only newer sitting in his yard with a tractor hood all broken up by a rock that had rolled over the bucket and onto the hood.

Everyone is a better Hoe operator that me!

Egon that is great news. I alway admired how much you accomplished with the little B7100. Now, power steering, more loader strength, more horsepower and backhoe you don’t have to play farmer you can play developer.

MarkV

PS. We will still welcome you in the Kubota forum.

Congratulations! Hope you can post some pictures soon. We won't recognize you with the Deere. . .and the big grin on your face.:D What about your homemade implements like your hay rake?

Egon, I guess you will have to update your signature to say "50 years behind the time with a new tractor? :D

Congrats on your purchase.

Congrats on the new machine! Ever since I've been a member here you had that little Kubota. It is going to be weird seeing you with a Deere now! :D

play developer.

Last year a fellow wanted me to start a landscaping business with him. Wisely I declined.:D:D

Yesterday it was welding shop time. Took it in, a 10 minute tractor drive from the house, and had some additions made for the bucket.

Three wear plates welded to the bottom
Threechain hooks on the top of the bucket
one chain hook on the back of the hoe bucket
Expanded metal guard that is bolted on
several bolted on truck springs to act as forks.

Still have one grease zerk that will not take grease.

Now I'm just about ready to go. :D:D
