Just a general question:

If I have a small tractor, say Kubota B2320 with 6-12 fronts and 9.5-16
rears, can I change the tires to something taller/narrower?

Has anybody changed tires on his compact/subcompact to improve
ground clearance or min tread?

What are the potential problems? Are there bigger, narrower tires available
for Kubota compacts?

Thanks,
Peter

In theory yes you can, you just have to maintain the circumference ratio front to back (if 4x4). Keep in mind that by installing taller tires that you will

- reduce the pulling power

- increase the instability of the tractor (higher CG)

- need to consider fender clearances (obviously) and also steering clearance

- change the relative position (height) of 3ph and loader with respect to ground (especially a mower if you have one).

- your speedometer (tach, rpm vs mph) will not be accurate, you could get a speeding ticket:D

- The bigger (taller) you go the more significant the above will be. I wouldn't think a minor change would be so bad but this probably wouldn't do much for added clearance.

How much 'lift' do you need?

I'm thinking of replacing 7x12 front and 11.2x16 rear with 6x16 front
and 11.2x24 rear. That should add at least 2" of ground clearance.

I doubt that you will be able to fit that big of a tire on your B series, Have you talked this over with a dealer to get their opinion?

I know by looking at the 24" rims on my L4200, that there would be no way they would clear on my B2150 not to mention the bolt pattern is different.
