charge light always on 180D

I checked the battery after sitting idle for 3 weeks it read 12.4 with the neg terminal removed, that would seem fully charged to me; no problem-o starting . Green light still on; I meant to check voltage while running to see if it hit 14V; but I was busy and it was rainy and I remembered on the way home .... grrrr

Any chance something might have come loose in the dash?

The other thing which has had me curious is that every piece of equipment I've seen has had a red indicator for low battery or not charging. Have you tried unplugging the alternator to see if anything changes? Could there be two seperate indicator lights? One red and the other green.

... all the wiring was loose on a smashed dash, that I rewired ... so "som-ting" could be rewired incorrectly ... and I did make my own light covers; so it turned out green with electrical tape and clear plastic (should it be red?)

and Im assuming that I have the right light in the right place.

(what light on the dash IS on permanently? I have 3 indicator lights; maybe the light thats on is in the wrong socket, and all is well, ... ! ...lol)

Usually green means good and red is a warning, but I'm not sure the color matters as long as you know what it is.

A wiring schematic could sure help out though. As I said early in this thread, I'm not familiar with the specifics of your tractor so beyond generalities it's tough to be of much help.

With only three indicators, I would guess battery, oil, and temp. All three I would normally expect to be red and light up if there was a problem.
