Interesting first post, lol. Welcome.I never thought much about roofs until I moved to a place with a roof that needed fixing. Before long, I discovered that roofing is a complicated, expensive, and dangerous job.
Roofing sucks, agreed. You gotta do it right the first time, so that hopefully you basically never have to do it again.
On the topic of this thread, I just had a metal carport put up. All the carport company websites advertise a basic 18x21x6 carport for ~$2k, installed. Well when you tell them you live in Michigan (snow load? Is the excuse, it's the same dang metal), want a taller leg height, and go from 18' width to 20' to avoid crowding, plus TAX, and pretty soon you're over $3000, instead. Oh well, I needed it.
