Cheaper oil filters

Sometimes there are better filters that are not OEM but OEM is never the WRONG filter that someone decided is a "will fit".

When it comes to the filters on the Hydro transmissions there have been several cases where aftermarket filters have caused problems. When I got my BX I looked at several crosses and stumbled upon one website where there was a guy doing reviews and learned that one part number was used on a lot of motorcycles and he had cut them apart and not all the filters had a full sized element inside the can and half were just air. That was when I stopped using crosses, it was not worth the $3000 replacement engine cost.

OEM isn't always the better option. The Baldwin fuel filter in my Cummins has a better micron rating than the OEM. The Fleet guard oil filter is better than the OEM. To buy OEM just because it's OEM ?? No thanks !
If I can't walk into a store and buy it, NO THANKS!! I have no issues supporting my dealer any chance that I get, plus they have been great too us. Baldwin only makes a fuel filter, but fleetguard does cross over. My dealer is extremely busy, have not heard of one engine grenade from an OEM oil filter. As for your Cummins, since they are fleetguard, Mopar filters for the Cummins should be fleetguard, would not run anything BUT Fleetguard on it. They know a thing or two more than Baldwin, since they designed the filter for an engine co-designed by them, the other company bring J I Case.

No Trans filter from anyone but OEM, but $42 every other year wont break me.

The Mopar filters (I don't believe) are the same as the Fleet Guard Strata Pore filters. which is better than the Mopar filter, the Fleet Guard Strata pore comes in second to the Donaldson Endurance oil filters. Same with Fuel filter. Baldwin beats Mopar / Fleet Guard for filtering out dirt from your fuel.... If you want filters that meet the min. specs. Then OEM is fine. If you want better filtration Fuel or oil, There are better options than OEM. I'm in the HVAC/Plumbing business. Would you rather me install your system/plumbing to min. standards or, better than min . standards
Again, If you are looking for better than OEM..There are better filters out there than OEM

I thought I read posts here in the past that said the nobody else made filters that would fit Kubota tractors. After reading this thread I went on NAPA's site and found that they list Kubota tractors including mine, the B3200. They have NAPA Gold filters for the engine, transmission, hydraulic, fuel and air.
I'm not going to bash Kubota brand filters, I'm sure whoever builds them does so the Kubota's specs.

I did a lot of research for oil filters for my Yamaha Rhino as I didn't want any engine problems (at least from oil) when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. I look at it from a reliability/best protection for my engine viewpoint, not price. If I have to spend a couple bucks more to buy a filter that filters finer particles than the OEM, I'll spend the money. I've had good luck with NAPA Gold filters (I understand that Wix makes them) and I like the idea of running down to my local NAPA dealer rather than shlepping to the closest Kubota dealer, who I've not been very impressed with.

Anyone else with a B3200? Check this out: NAPA AUTO PARTS

NAPA GOLD filters are Wix premium filters and they have just about all of Kubota applications as well they should. Wix is an OE supplier for Kubota USA. The problem with NAPA is their pricing on some Kubota applications. Their air filters are just as expensive for my B2710 and M6800 as Kubota branded filters. I order from Fleetfilter.com the same filters for much less when I spend over $100 in filters. Not hard to spend that much when I purchase for my tractors, cars, and trucks in one lick. Anyone who would spend 20-30 grand on a tractor and try to screw a $3 Fram filter on it is hard for me understand.

Remember your quest for the "best" filter may lead to a failure. If your best filter has a lower micron count you may end up with a lower flow rate also( more restriction) and starve lubrication. I doubt anyone would have a failure because they were using OEM filters. Again the point of the op was kubota s filter was a relabelled brand at a higher price. Same filter different paint. In that case I'd go with the "aftermarket" brand.

I can tell you incorrect in WIX having the applications correct, the WIX fuel filter for the BX is a screen and not the water blocking paper element. My MR Funnel has a tighter screen then the WIX does.

Thats why theres a by-pass in the filter...

I ran into that with fuel filters for by B2710. Turns out there was a design change Kubota made which ended up with some 2710 units taking one style and others taking another. Threy offer both but the cross reference is slow about catching these type of issues.
