My goodness, what a fun thread with a lot of good feedback. Perhaps I should've asked if there's anybody out there that has had any kind of problems with what kind of filter. Then we could all just avoid that one! Thanks to all, Hal

I ran into that with fuel filters for by B2710. Turns out there was a design change Kubota made which ended up with some 2710 units taking one style and others taking another. Threy offer both but the cross reference is slow about catching these type of issues.

But in this case they are specifying a 50 micron screen instead of a diesel paper filter, I use better on my gasoline log splitter and generators.

While we are on filters it's worth noting that they drain much better if you drill or punch a hole in the bottom and drain upside down. In most of my filters, more oil comes out.

I also do that too. I have a funnel in a gallon oil jug I set them in after I punch a hole through them. I have noticed that usually there is very little oil that comes out of a fram in comparison to other filters.

What you COULD do is turn this into a good thread by helping others save money on filters.

Here'a a good tip. I have 2 pieces of equipment that have Mitsibushi diesels that run the same oil filter. One is on a Cub Cadet 7260, the oil filter lists for $18.00 dollars. However Subaru Justy engines used the exact same oil filter with the exact manufactures part number on it but lists for $8.95 direct from any Subaru dealer.
Part number 15208-KA012.
