Price Check Check my thinking about a used Kubota 2910

I'd call the price 'in the ballpark'. Maybe a little higher than I'd look to pay, but if it's in good shape and has the belly mower........

For the sake of comparison, today's equivalent would be the B3030 (or new B3000), so price a new one to see how much buying used is saving. May I ask what part of the country you are in? Different regions have an effect on pricing.

If you thought the L series was a little too big, the 2910 would be a good choice. You should be able to run five foot implements instead of four footers i'd recommend for most B series tractors.

As mentioned the modern equivalent of that tractor is the B3030, not the B2920. Setup as described you'd be looking at $23-25K new.

With that said, I paid a little over 16K for my B3200 new a couple years ago, R4 tires and loader (no mower). So IMO the price is a little high, but not outrageous.

I think the B2910 will work well for what you describe. I use mine in the woods a fair bit and can haul out moderate size logs, even without a winch. As of recently I switched from the R4 to R1 tires and it made a big difference in pulling power, so if Ag tires would work for your application, (and the dealer is willing to switch tires) I would go for them.

You're saying that a B2910 isn't just an older (xx10) version of a B2920 (xx20)? How is that?

The B2910 was the 'premium' B-series (along with the B2710) back then. It was also the larger 4cylinder chassis, 65" wheel base, same as the B3030. It had position control 3pt hitch, nicer 3pt stabilizers, etc. The B2920 is the smaller 3cylinder chassis, and the basic model. Older equivalents to the B2920 are the roughly the B7610/B2410.

B2710 = B2630
B2910 = B3030
B7800 = B3200/3300

As an aside, the B2910, B7800, B3030, B3200, B3300 are all mechanically the same. The just have different sheet metal and a few nicer features on the more expensive machines.

Like verticaltrx says........ the 2910 is the larger, deluxe B series. I don't know how Kubota decides their model numbering, but the 2910 is definitely not an early version of the 2920.

Thanks to everyone. Still, the tractor is 11 years old and has over 800 hours and will come where is as is.

If the OP needs the deluxe features of the Deluxe B, then perhaps he should push hard on that price and see where to selling point is to be found. It certainly represents some savings compared to a new B3030.

But, if the OP can live with a "standard" B tractor, that kind of money will get him right close to brand new, with zero financing (for a fee) and full warranty. In the end, that is the OP's decision to make and we all wish him the best.

That does seem high for a used B series tractor. I would go with an L series or other comparable brand larger at least if you want to haul alot of wood. R1 tires will be your best tire for woods and mud too.
