1500.00$ is way too much for most people.

It is expensive, but it's still pretty nice. Unfortunately, my budget will only (barely) allow me to buy a 3-pt carry all from TSC for $125 and then fab up something out of scrap lumber to put on the carry all.

There's plenty of "estate owners" who buy tractors who wouldn't blink at buying one of them, especially if they bought it at the time of purchase and were able to finance it with their tractor. I hope he sells a ton of them and realizes his dream of building a product and company from scratch! I'm not a marketing expert, but I think the key is to try and get them into the hands of tractor dealers so prospective customers can see them. Sell them a "demo, not for resale, unit" for cost (or below). I'd focus on dealers that are closer to urban/suburban markets rather than the rural dealers that sell big farm equipment. Maybe start by sending these dealers a literature packet that includes a CD/DVD with a bunch of videos of it in use. If he can include videos of actual customers using the product, that would be even better.

I do know (from another forum) that he's already selling through Mutton Power Equipment in IN.

Like I said - I can't afford it, but I wish him all the luck in the world to make this a success!!

Also, THANKS to Big Tool Rack for being an advertiser on this site! Without guys like him, we'd be hounded to buy "premium memberships" like so many other special interest forums do in order to pay for servers, etc.

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback. Bigtoolrack is proudly made in the USA! I am doing my best to reduce the cost without taking it overseas like most other companies do......I think it's important to keep the American people working especially with my product an All American tractor attachment. Believe me there is not much margin in this product out of the gate it is made of the highest quality and right now we are running smaller quantities. But as I ramp this business up my hope is to reduce the cost and pass the saving onto my customers. Thank you for your support I am proud to be part of tractorbynet!

For some reason the promo pictures of spotless tools in the spotless rack on a spotless tractor kinda conflict with the utility nature of the Rack. As shown, it looks like a dollhouse accessory. I think the truck manufacturers all had the Eureka! Moment at about the same time when they started filming their 4x4's with actual mud on them. Sorry.

That said, it looks like a well thought-out product.

Heck with tools -- I need one of these in which my dog can ride along. She is 12 years old and can't keep up any more but doesn't want to be left behind either.

LOL!!! This kind of reminds me of the Chevy Colorado commercial that's running right now where they show the picture of the same guy, but posed in front of a truck in one pic and a little sedan in another.

Moderator shows the focus group the picture of a spotless Big Tool Rack. Moderator asks "What kind of tractor would this Big Tool Rack fit best on?" A 12 year old kid answers "Probably on a baby Kubota tractor that's only used to haul the trash cans up to the end of the road every week." Moderator shows the focus group a picture of a muddy, well used Big Tool Rack and ask "What kind of tractor would this Big Tool Rack be mounted on?" A really hot blond answers in a breathy voice "Oh! THAT Big Tool Rack would be on Mark02TJ's rugged John Deere!!":laughing:

OK, OK, Kubota guys - I'm just joking!! I used to sell Kubotas in my younger days and loved them!!

I think it looks like a well thought out product, and I hope you sell a ton of them.

As for the clean vs. dirty thing, if someone needs a dirty pic to visualize their use of the product, they are too stupid to have a job and couldn't afford it anyway.

Thank you for the comments we are going to have a great year at Bigtoolrack you always get the nay Sayers for those folks even if it was $100 they wouldn't buy it anyway..... The product just makes sense! Have had many folks buy the rack and save them a lot of time on projects. Your can't carry anything on a tractor so many people put tools in their bucket and forget they are there scoop dirt or something up and damage them. Not anymore. That's the goal make life easier.

Have a great weekend!

Very nice concept. I particularly like the castors already mounted. Right now I use a ballast box (filled with bricks) that I can throw a few things into (ie: chainsaw + 2stroke petrol can) but its primary use is as counter balance ballast for handling rounds of hay or for 4in1 bucket work. If this product incorporated a ballast function/feature it would be more versatile.

And I understand your pride in the product AND that the USA is a huge market... just remember that TBN is an international kind of place, Mate. :)

I did that once with a chainsaw, toolbox, etc... in my front bucket. Scooped up some dirt and then dumped it to see everything else spill out on top. Talk about a dope slap to the head....

I know what you mean regarding cost to manufacture in USA vs. overseas. I was seroiusly contimplating marketing my idea, but too quicly came to realize my material cost wa near 3x my inital estimate and to manufacture the labor was 4 - 5 times my swag. I should know better as I am a 30 year plus mechanical engineer.

What I find even more amazing is the actual low cost of Chinese merchanise.

I recently bought items shipped direct where the freight cost was double the price of the hardware, but even considering the total cost with AIR freight was 3-4 X less than domestic. Another example, for replacement parts for my excavator, the cost with freight was 1/8 of OEM! Thats just wrong, There should be unions overseas.

Very nice looking product and the design looks great. I have to agree that the price is just too high, I hope everything works out great and you can get your costs down as I believe that will really help your sales. Good luck and again nice work

Hopefully we don't discourage the manufacturer too much. The problem here is that this forum is filled with doityourselfers who will somewhat balk at the price. Many here are able to build something similar that can be exactly tailored to what they want for far less money and probably enjoy the project. Many that don't have the time/skills/equipment will see it as a bargain.

Hopefully the responses you get here of "too much money" don't force the manufacturer to cheapen the product or send it overseas. We have enough harbor freight items imho.
