It's on casters about 2" or maybe a bit less. Plenty of air gets circulated under it.

I just don't want it on a wood floor or carpeting of any kind in case it loses power and leaks somehow. I doubt you'd ever get that stench out of wood.

My freezer is sitting on commercial broadloom just at the bottom of the basement stairs. Eventually, I will put it in the fruit cellar. I generally keep everything off the ground, but it also makes a nice place for dirt, dust and spiders to accumulate.
