Jeez, Bob! I'm not sure what sort of chickens they have where you live, but every breed we've ever raised made a beeline for the garden the moment they noticed it! The ignored the tomatoes until one got the barest hint of pink to it...then in an hour all the stuff that's worth eating was gone!
