Glad you finally got it fixed, too bad a flow meter wasn't avail to you, you would've learned in a few minutes if your pump was good or bad. Lots of good mechanics have fallen into the trap of taking possible failed pumps apart only to find nothing obvious. The only thing a visual would tell is if the pump had a catastrophic crash, or starvation.
