Chipper Chinese Chipper Review

TonyC, I heard from Gary today, he expects a Bill of Lading on our chippers today. He says that this usually includes a delivery date. When I find out I'll post it.

I'm starting to get excited, it's been a long wait!

I also asked him about replacement parts. He said that most of the parts that wear out, bearings, belts, ect.. are all standard parts you can get anywhere. He stocks blades, but hasn't ever had anyone order any.

Great news! I'll wait to hear from you.

Gary got his Bill of Lading yesterday, but unfortuneately it didn't include an estimated delivery, only that they left the port in China on Nov 10. The ship name is Luetjenburg/E21H. The container# is ZHSU4000841/DO25001/40. If I was real resourcefull I would try to track it down. With the internet, and todays technology we could probably find out where it was. But I'll just wait to hear back from Gary.

OK - So I couldn't help myself. I did a quick search for the shipname, and cargo # and did manage to get some information. The ship is due in port at 7:00 pm on Friday Dec 5th, and they have submitted their preliminary computer manifest to US Customs.

I love my tractor, but sometimes technology can be fun. Oops, guess a little of the computer geek in me slipped out.

Ken, I thought wow he found the ship, how'd he do that? I just searched on a site @www easipass com /ytsc/cqyj/dafei/cqyj3f766d5a27111.htm
It had a LUETJENBURG going into MANZANILLO, Mexico 6 Dec and then on to Port Everglades 9 Dec, Savannah 11 Dec, New York, 14 Dec. and Norfolk 15 Dec. Were your dates for an arrival on the East or the West Coast? Maybe I'm looking at old data.

Majmac,
Your data is more correct than mine, I didn't realize that when I did my quick search that the arrival date was to the ships next destination, which was Mexico.

I received an email from Gary today, and his information was that the ship would be in Norfolk on the 15th, and we should be able to take delivery of the chippers on or about the 20th. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Super. I'm sure you're anxious. When I pay for something I want it then, and hate to wait. Keep us up to date on the delivery.

Thanks for the info, Ken. Looks like we have a bit more to wait. Oh well, a Christmas present I guess. It seems like it's taking forever!

Does seem like it's been a long wait. Some of it I think was just waiting for Gary to get a full container order. Can't blame him though, my company orders products from overseas also, and you just can't afford to ship less than a container full. But I think at the price 1/3 of here in Mi. it will be worth the wait. I'll touch base again if I hear any new info.
