I know some people here hate the Chinese made Jimna chippers, but Ive had mine in use for 5-6 years (i forget exactly) and it has never failed me yet. Last week i hired a friend with his huge excavator to pull out 8 trees...roots and all... to prepare the new lawn area I'm planning to landscape and sprinkler next spring. I used the loader mounted forks to maneuver the trees and limb them, then hold them in place while i cut them to 16" pieced.
Man was this a treat after years of manhandling the trees while cutting. Then i Chopped all the limbs and any branches smaller than 4-5 inches (the rest makes nice firewood).
The result after two 4 hour days is a nice pile of yet to be split rounds and a bunch of piles of chips that the wife uses in the planters. I would have got it don't sooner, but its 90+ out there...was 96 today. yuk.
I find its getting harder and harder for me to get out of the air conditioned cab

That's a great job:thumbsup: I've got a question for you about your chipper set up. I've got the same chipper and a Kioti DK 40. I previously used the chipper on a different tractor. I don't remember ever cutting the PTO shaft to use it on that tractor. When looking to hook it up to the Kioti, it looks like the shaft is too short. It looks like the shaft you have is the same one I got with my chipper. Did you have to do anything to get it to fit on the Kioti?

i had to add to the length . I did this

You can buy a overrunning coupler Overrunning PTO Coupler, 1-1/8 in. x 6 Female Spline - 0271148 | Tractor Supply Company or at most farm supplies. these add about 6" to the pto shaft length. Also, when you shut off the PTO the driveshaft can continue to spin down While THE TRACTORS PTO CAN STOP. I added one to my Kioti so my chipper shaft could reach. works great, and now i dont have to replace the driveshaft. The part cost me about $50 at Big R supply in Spokane Wash, and it locks onto the existing pto shaft. VERY easy to use.

It worked for me, and all you have to do is remember NOT to raise it up until it stops turing.. Kiotis 3 point hitch sits further out than my old jojn deere 870. Oh, and i never cut my old PTO shafe either.

Excellent! Thanks for the info. I was looking at the TSC web site and that overrunning coupler and another PTO extender that they have. I'm going to TSC tommorrow. Hopefully they will have the coupler in stock. I've got a bunch of branches to chip from a tree I took down last weekend and this hurricane coming could give me a lot more. :(

no problem. They make a cheaper coupler, but it doesnt lock in place unless you drill a hole and use pins. The overrunning coupler had a standard slip lock. Good luck.

Yes it smokes more, but I mix mine with oak or cherry so it isn't quite so bad(get less smoke the hotter it burns though).
Most people won't burn pine because it can coat the chimney and cause fires, but my chimney has a 'smooth' stainless steel liner, and the creosote and tar buildup fall right off. Thru the summer..........my chimney cleans itself.
