Why is Mahindra so high?

Quote I got for the eMax 24 with BH, FEL, MMM and Tiller was over $27K if I used the 0% offer. Without that there are some rebates/discounts of around $4K, but still makes $23K which is well above some of the others I've seen.

Mahindra should be near the cheapest once all discounts are taken into account, except for RK. Note eMAX and MAX are completely different lines. So take a look at the MAX too (beefier). If the 24HP was really an eMAX, then I believe it would have to be last year's model (2017).

Did you drive it?

Can the JD (or other) dealers be talked into providing the service manuals with a new machine?

I may have already asked this, but just in case:

What is the purpose of 'remotes' and/or 'power beyond'? What are they used for and would I need one or both?

One of the more common uses for the rear hydraulic remotes is to operarate a top and tilt system on your 3 point hitch. It gives you the ability to adjust the angle and tilt of a rear implement without having to get out of the seat.

This is very handy for things like box blades where to get them to work as they should you need to make constant adjustments to pick up and then distribute dirt or gravel. It also helps to adjust the angle of the implement if you want to do something like create a crown in a driveway.

Power beyond would by used to power another valve, such as rear remotes, grapple, etc.
if the tractor has rear ports where rear remotes can be added, you should be good.
I would think that most ''newer'' tractors would come with PB. The loader valve on my old yanmar even has PB.

Many people (myself included) are using a 3rd function control valve to operate other functions like grapple, etc,.

OK, that helps some. Not sure how much of that I might be doing, but I'd like to be equipped for it.

But now I'm wondering about the LS XJ2025H which seems to be close to the same prices as the MT125, but with more lift capacity.

Ya just never know, You may want rear remotes down the road.
Which ever tractor you choose, you might ask how difficult it would be to install rear remotes at a later date.
My Kubota MX5100 is set up to add rear remotes fairly easily, if I choose to do so

The money .....

If I buy either new or used from a dealer, the financing is easier, but they collect sales tax.

If I buy used from a private individual, they don't collect the sales tax, but you have to finance yourself. Third party financing from a credit union or bank can be more difficult and expensive. Local CU wants 20% down and 10% interest for example.

I could pull the entire amount from a retirement account, but there is a 20% tax witholding. I'd get most or all of that back at next filing, but I can't pout it back in the retirement account.

I would find a different credit union. My CU offers 5.49 % for 72 months on tractor loans.
