The tractor has a 12 volt conversion so it may have something to do with that. It is getting dark out so early now and it would be nice to have some lights. When I first got it, a friend wanted to drive it down the road but it was almost dark and I had to say, not tonight.

A complete rebuild on your alternator would cost about $50 and is a good investment if it isn't putting out.. You can take it out, take it to any reputable auto electric place, have them bench test it to see. That won't cost you anything. Mine cost $55 to replace bearings , windings, new pigtail, etc. It's pretty simple to hook up. The wiring diagram previously mentioned is a good one and shows the light hookups etc. Your lights might still be 6v and were burned out when the 12v alternator was added (check the bulbs to see what they are). Original lights with the "ring" are hard to find, so if you have some hold on to them. BobG in VA
