Turkey at the cottage! My favourite meal by far. Mashed potatoes, stuffing, candied carrots. Wife is planning to make Tortiere as well. Daughter is coming ip today, so there will be 3 of us. Green Christmas in Toronto, but white Christmas up here!
we are lucky that our daughter could join us for six days, as she just started her brand new nursing job in Toronto, and new employees don’t usually get much time off. However, she will be with us till the 29th. She is very much looking forward to seeing our Airedale Terrier again. (“My Son!”). Hasn’t seen him for weeks on end!

We are having a standing rib roast (done with the sous vide then finished in the oven) Au Gratin potatoes, mushrooms, onions, & bourbon honey glazed carrots. Just mix-up a batch of horseradish sauce this morning... it always better if it sits awhile first....
We normally roast a couple of ducks also, with some additional sides, but we are a much smaller group this year so we cut the menu way back.

We had a prime rib with veggies and baked potatoes on Sunday night for immediate family because some of them will be at their other families on Christmas.
Then between work and other family/friend gatherings, I've been 'forced' (hahaha) to attend at least 4 other large meals since then.
A birthday tonight will be chicken alfredo, amd Christmas tomorrow will be Pop Tarts for breakfast. Making a nice ham, Polish sausage on the grill and fixins at my mother in-law's in the mid afternoon.
I've gained about 6 pounds this week and it's not over.
Merry Christmas to all.

My 91 year old mother passed away a few months ago so I am going all out with a formal dinner for my brothers and sisters.
Prime standing rib roast with Yorkshire pudding, fondant potatoes, roasted broccoli cheese grits with bacon and shrimp. Stir fried green beans with homemade Canadian bacon and Parmigiano Reggio cheese. Lobster bisque, quartered iceberg lettuce with crab dressing and cherry tomatoes.
For dessert, my Mom's recipes for chocolate-pecan pie and raisin allgood pie.
Gonna break out the Prosecco and some good whiskey for toasting .
