You are exactly right, Bird. One of the problems I had was convincing the Doctor there was something other than the heart attack causing me chest pain. I just kept insisting that there was something wrong in my right lung. Finally he called in a pulminary specialist on Christmas day to check me and that's when they found the pneumonia.
Unfortunately, I was running a high fever and nothing tasted very good. Although they offered a full holiday menu, I think I had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich and couldn't even eat all of that. As soon as they got me on antibiotics and my fever came down, my appetite came right back.
txdon: Believe me, this wasn't the Christmas present I had plannned for Kathy. As a matter of fact, we will probably exchange presents today since our celebration kind of got sidetracked.
RedRocker: Hey, I know some things have been a struggle in your life over the last year and I appreciate your offer of help. If I can figure an excuse to get together and do tractor stuff, I just might take you up on your offer. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Believe me...I do not intend to do this again.
PineRidge: Thanks for the good wishes and kind words. It's hard to keep to a NH guy down, even after we turn the color of our tractors. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Eddie: I told you I was going to fish in that lake you are building. I don't intend to let anything stand in the way of that. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ...and yes, more on the silt project soon. My doctor even gave his permission for me to get back on the tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Mike: Well, I could say I'm sorry for making you do a self-evaluation of your own health, but I am not. It's really necessary. I've been seeing a doctor and everything has been showing up pretty normal, but I guess I was still right of the verge of having a problem. I'd say you should change your diet if needed and probably get some help by taking some of the new prescription drugs that will help with cholestrol if it's indicated after a checkup. The most important thing is to go to the Dr. regularly and have some idea of your overall health. You have too much life to live to have it cut short by a surprise.
I guess all in all, I was pretty lucky. The timing was lousy, but I have my own self to blame for that. All-in-all it's been a Christmas with a lot to be thankful for. The good friends here at TBN come to mind as a perfect example. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
