Chryslers grandson wants to save the brand

Jeep could be saved. But the carve out can't include Stillantis debt. If it did then it would immediately go for Chapter 11. Fire everyone. Reorganize and rehire only engineers that want to make a simple, tough, utility vehicle as a niche, retro-marketed four wheel drive vehicle.

You mean a Jeep Wrangler.

My 2011 Jeep GC has had:
Water pump and radiator both failed.
When brakes are worn almost to end (not hitting the warning yet) they lock up and catch fire due to the poor design.
The heater door flaps broke on both the passenger and driver side. Was able to replace the passenger side. The design was done really poorly as the insulation on the drivers side flap has moved, getting the heater door stuck in heat position.
This is a common problem and the whole core needs to be removed to fix a simple flap door. Worst design I have ever seen.
The lights are constantly needing to be replaced, oem from Jeep don't last long and the HT headlights come on every time you start the car day or night, so they don't last and cost $40 each when I replace them.
There are tons of other problems with hubs, and anti-lock brakes and both of the computers where replaced when it was under warranty. Engine and Light computers (yes a whole box and circuit boards to control the lighting system).

The engine itself has been good, the hemi V8, but so many other issues......

nothing like heat in the summer and getting a long screwdriver out to unstick the pads when smoke starts coming out from one of the wheel wells.
For some reason the GC has always been a problematic Jeep model. My Wrangler has been great.

When I hear CEO automakers saying things, I get sort of mad. They are always concentrating on the same design of vehicle. "Oh Look at this new car! Its exciting." And it looks like this? They all look like that. You need an App, just to find your car in a parking lot. They are all betting on the same aerodynamic design and just who can make it cheaper. There is still vision, but few can afford those cars as new.

So, what i hear from you guys, they cancelled the 300C, Challenger and Charger and all you got back are rebadged Fiats ?

I must admit i couldnt care less about Fiat, so i dont know which models they sell nowadays.
By how much theyve lost in Europe i understand that they build the same designs in the USA because they have to spread the cost or discontinue the brand.

I am afraid Chrysler will remain a rebadged Fiat to save Fiat. Nobody is buying the larger Fiats here.

Chrysler sold lots of minivans, in Europe too. Do they still sell big numbers of minivans, or does the trend move towards SUVs like in Europe?

I mean, did the loss of 300C, Challenger and Charger put Chrysler in rough weather, or is their minivan falling out of favour ? When i was in Canada 20 years ago, they were common as brown bread.

So, I will throw a wrench into what others have said. First, the US market is a shrinking % of the total car market, and western Europe is too. The real growth is south America, central America, south Asian, and the near east. One almost forgotten line of the Chrysler family might do every well in those areas. Eagle. They weren't really a major line here, but 4wd/Awd mid sized cars, and possibly compact trucks. They could probably have a single chassis, and maybe 3 bodies; a medium sized car, possibly with a station wagon model, a small SUV (probably a 5 passenger with a micro bed), and a small truck, offer a single wheel base, crew cab and 4-5 ft bed. Keep it relatively simple and cheap, and I think you could really attack niche markets; say government and fleet/cab vehicle sales in Caribbean.
