CK 20 Won't Start!

Put key in ignition and turn to any position and nothing happens. No dash lights or anything. Tractor lights come on and blinkers etc. But nothing from the ignition switch works. I replaced the battery, battery connectors, cleaned the ground connection between the ground wire and the tractor, replaced the ignition switch and still nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are getting close the the snow season here in New England.

Could there be a safety switch in need of being disabled? i.e. seat belt safey switch.

I'm assuming "no start" means "no crank" .. most of the time no crank on a tractor means a safety switch not in proper position. However you say no dash lights..the ign switch will turn on dash lights even with safety cut off switches open.. Sounds like a main fuse or fusible link to ign switch is bad or you have a bad connection somewhere...Although I'm not familar with your tractor model I'm fairly sure the problem lies in the power from the battery not getting to ignition switch.

Check all fuses and connections, if you have power through ignition fuse (fuse is good) and seeing you replaced the ignition switch you can access the pigtail (wiring connector) see if you have 12-13 volts going to the ignition switch key on or off. if no, trace back, probing for voltage as you go.

Our little tractors are prone to key switch failure. Give her a goood squirt of WD-40 and work it real good (Battery disconnected). If still no joy, check your dealer and see if he has one in stock.

Went to work on it again this morning. Checked connection from battery to the starter solenoid ok! Pulled each fuse from the fuse box and checked with ohm meter, all ok! Cleaned connectors with electrical contact cleaner coming from both solenoids mounted under steering column, one for glow plugs, the other timer relay. ok! What can I look for next?

The only lights that work now are the signal lights. No headlights. Flashers work okay. Seems like there is no electrical to the front of the tractor. Got me stumped.

I guess the next step is to check to insure the new ignition switch is plugged in good. It's a real chore to try and get that in there. Maybe it isn't plugged in good, that's the only thing I can think of right now that would cause this. The shop manual talks about a 60amp fuse but I cannot find that fuse on this tractor. I looked at the electrical schematic and sure enough there is a 60amp fuse, but I cannot locate it on this tractor.

On my 2003 DK 45 that 60 amp main fuse (sometimes called fusible link) was on left side real close to the oil dip stick it was factory tapped-up with black tape hard to see.
