CK 30 OIL OVER FILL

I swear , drill a sight hole in the dip stick, what a get idea. The more I log on to this site the more I learn.

I second that! Dang good idea... I know three small engine dipsticks that will get the drill treatment next week when I get home....

Very sorry for predicament you found yourself in. As an Engineer I have a solution for "over filing" or "not filling" in engine crank Case. Can have two 1/2 NPT connection at the side of crankcase for low and high condition, put and elbow and nipple piece with a screw in magnetic float and a sealed reed switch. Wire that up in series (normally closed float sensor) to ignition and motor starting circuit. if one or both condition are met the engine will not start.You then promptly scratch you head and say hmmm.

at least you can not kill the engine till you figure out what you have done wrong. My two cents.

Sight hole in the dipstick. Great idea! Also, for tractor-hyd fluid,
use the colored stuff. I use Chevron 1000THF, which is maroon.
It is extremely difficult to read a clear fluid level on a dipstick or
site glass.
