I am a firm beleiver that the Presby Enviro's are the best system out there for cost and size.
I'd have to take exception to that :
The best system they ever came up with is the one I installed back in 71 .
The great thing about it is there is no leach field sand mound or drain bed to clog up or fowel up.

The failure as it was explained

What's crappy about it is it's designed to fail just like all the other worthless highly expensive obstructions we've been forced to add to a septic tank over the years.

Being a crap field novice, what exactly is the best design? I've got a septic system and would like to know, if and when the day ever comes, what the best system is. My mom and dad live in the same house I was brought up in, been there 45 years, still original system.

Thanks,
Joel

One that don't obstruct the drain pipe going out of the tank.
Mounds and leach fields and leach beds are all blockers.

Picture this which is the best exhaust system on a vehicle one that has a cap welded to the end of the tail pipe or one that doesn't?
Which one is going to be trouble free and which one is going to be a problem?

Update:

I got most of the pipes in place and started to cover them with the sand.

I still have to add 5' to each pipe run and the vent.

Looking at the pics, it amazes me that the setup works. I say this because the tubes are so close together and there doesn't seem to be enough field.

I wish my county would allow such a setup. We're in the stone ages when it comes to septic systems. It's either with stone or a sand mound. They did approve some system that allows for nitrogen removal, but the catch is it gets written into your deed. They will require 2 or 3 inspections a year and from my understanding it will cost the homeowner around $500/year for the inspections. Plus, it needs power to run pumps and such. What a rip off!

Update:

Started covering with sand, and added the rest of the pipes.

I still have to finish the vent.

Really not a hard project.. (Just Crappy)

This took about 12 hours time on the CK20, she ran like a champ.

I'm glad I don't have all this stuff obstructing drainage of my tank.
This is so expensive just to keep the Gov. agencies busy.

Great job, it seems everyone is using these presby systems sand is a natural filter, but it just seems to me it would clog up faster then stone. I have some family members at an old farm house and they have a dry well system and it has not failed since it was "installed" over 50 years ago.

Nice to see a "crappy" little project like this posted so close by as I am just south of you in the "big" city.

3*What a rip off!
1*Any field is to much field.
2*Nope they need to go back to the only deal that worked and had no field problems.
3* All this { pardon the Pun } crap's a rip off meant to keep the bureaucrats in business and to produce revenue for the politicians.

My system was installed in 1971.
It Can't fail because it don't have a leach field/bed.
I've never seen or heard of a system like it ever failing.
Every system I ever saw fail was the leach bed type insalled befor my system and the systems installed after 1971 that have leach fields.

Alright Mr Brown, you want to quickly sling mud at everything posted about leach fields. Please tell me about this amazing system of yours that apparently is light years ahead of everything I have ever designed/installed.

Yeah, your system hasn't failed yet, well have you tested your drinking water yet. Because if you dont have at least a stone and pipe system or better and are not on a city sewer system then I garauntee that you are contaminating your ground water regularly. The only thing the "bureaucrats" are protecting is the ground water and the diseases that people get from it when it's not clean.

I think it is more to keep the groundwater safe....

I am glad the State of NH is busy keeping the water table safe.

If you haven't been over to check out the new addition at Batch's then you should soon.

My problem is I see all the shiny CK30's and get the shakes...

How much raking do you need to do? Need to borrow a rake for the weekend?

Wow, I like the new site. I haven't been to Batchelder's in quite a while. My yard is full of rocks and limbs that I want to "rake" out but using the boxblade pulls too much soil with the rocks and limbs. I figure a rake will work best and if it does, I have months of work ahead of me. Thank you for the offer though.

I also have a york rake you can borrow.

I plan to use during the summer but not much over a week or two.

Will use after I've run through with the box blade that I'm picking up at Rick's this weekend.

Joel
