Buying Advice CK20??? Is it right for me???

/ CK20??? Is it right for me??? #21
I have a CK30 gear and have found that by using the low or high range I can get the exact speed for every thing I do. If I am out in the open it is high range but when I am on a steep hill or in in thick woods it is low. with 8 total speeds just about any speed can be obtained and is constant. The shuttle shift makes things that much better. I would think the CK20 would work the same as mine.

I have a CK20HST. It'll do what your looking for. I'm on just over 5.5 acres as well. About an even split between open and wooded land - mostly flat. A larger tractor would actually be harder to maneuver in some areas.

The R4s will chew the lawn a bit in 4wd. Not as much as when I start moving with my boxblade still down though(!).

I'd avoid the MMM. Get one for your 3-point. I suspect detaching a mmm would get old fast. In fact, I didn't even thing one was available for the CK20.

The first tractor I learned to drive was a JD 1948 Model A so I'm no stranger to pedals and shifters and gears and . . . I still like my HST.

It's a stout little machine.

Good luck and have fun!

That happened to me, went to the other K store and wanted to try it out. Salesman said "we don't like to get them dirty".

Went to Dick Batchelder and he pointed me to a pile of dirt and said "Have at it".

Exact same experience I had... I was only allowed to drive a Kubota around the parking lot, but Batchelder let me scoop dirt AND make a mess of their pallets with some forks.
