I think I'd be satisfied with a thorough check up by another dealer. That's what I asked them to do.

You reminded me: dealers like to OVER-torque lug nuts. They use pneumatic wrenches for that. The
rear ones are often near-impossible to remove, and the fronts are quite easy to strip out. Found
that out with my first tractor. I always lube threads, and virtually never use thread-locker goop.

Another thing is that Kioti uses some generic clear hyd oil and there is lots of machining debris in there.
Get rid of it ASAP and put in some name-brand THF.

My last conversation with the Costumer service at Kioti said the dealer who did the original prep would "like an opportunity to make it right". But getting there would be on my own dime. She's trying to do better, I'm just waiting for her to get back to me.

That's not "making it right", IMO. Here's a couple questions for that dealer: Why wasn't it made right in the first place? Why should you trust him (and spend your $$) to "make it right" this time? This isn't a simple case of missing a step in the checklist or failing to include some accessory item. These were multiple screw-ups with some attempts to hide them and some attempts to jury rig a fix. Find a better dealer if you can.

That's what I'm trying to do. She was supposed to be contacting a local dealer for me to arrange him to check it out. But she hasn't got back to me in 3 days and it appears wasn't in the office on Friday. She is the only person in Customer Service. I'm feeling more and more like I made a big mistake.

I doubt another dealers poor dealer prep is covered by warranty. So getting the different/closer dealer to fix your purchasing dealer prep mistakes is not likely IMO.

Wow well if he wants an opportunity to make it right he should be coming to get your tractor the way I see it. I highly recommend you not take your tractor to that man. Find a dealer you can trust get your tractor to him and pay him what he wants to do what should've been done in the first place you'll still be money ahead by purchasing your kioti. And then you'll know you have a dealer that can help you if you run into problems in the future. From what I understand kioti does not reimburse dealers very well for warranty work.

One day after working with the Kioti I experimented with folding the ROPS; it won't. Ahhh! The top part was mounted backwards; easily fixed. Now it folds onto the drivers seat:thumbdown:. Ahhh! The left and right mounts were swapped; also easily fixed. Except that they stripped 3 out of 8 mounting bolts. One they drilled out and replaced with a bolt and nut, the other two they left in the stripped hole. So now my ROPS is held up by 6 bolts instead of 8. Oh and I found that 2 bolts are missing from the under-fender support the ROPS is bolted too. There is also the mis-routed wires and loose bold holding on the fuel tank. So ... don't trust M&H Tractor in Middletown, NY.

I've contacted Kioti and am awaiting a reply. I hope they do well by me.

But the little machine performs well. My buddy with a bigger Kubota L3010 was impressed with the power of the BH (his is a Woods) but the levers are reversed.

If this dealer was genuine he would right out there collecting the tractor before now. Firstly the ROPS are only certified if they have not been modified. He has drilled out the bolt hole and replaced it with a bolt. How can he or Kioti guarantee that the ROPS are safe. Just the fact they delivered the tractor with the ROPS in that condition is a deal breaker. Kioti Has a duty of care to insure that it dealers are adequately trained and experienced to prep their tractors for sale. And the dealers have a responsibility to ensure that the tractors are delivered in a safe operating condition and free from defect. I hope that Kioti come to the party, I don't think this guy deserves the chance to fix the issue and I don't think you are expecting too much from Kioti. Good luck and keep us updated and don't let this dull your impression of the tractor. Kioti tractors are very good, and you should expect years of quality service from it. Have been very happy with mine. PS if I was you I would insist on a whole new ROP assembly!

I know I am coming into this late, but I thought I should point this out. Modification of a ROPS by the dealer is against the law. OSHA dictates specific rules about modifying safety equipment. Your ROPS should be replace with a new one. Both the dealer and Kioti should be eager to fix this, because in case of a roll over and the ROPS failing they both would be liable.
