Send one my way
I have a CK25 - larger than the 2510, same everything but engine as the CK30. Mine is gear, shuttle shift, 2 range. It has loaded tires and is a dirt moving beast. I've owned it for 9 years now, with about 600 hours on it. I've moved over 900 tons of fill, hundreds of yards of manure and mulch, many tons of big rock, tree stumps, on, and on. If you want a ground engagement machine to move earth, there is not substitute for weight. The hydraulics flow rate on the Kiotis is another selling point.
I helped my FIL find a CK20 (same tractor basically as the CK2510). It was manual too. He likes it; it does what he wants. Ask Islandtractor in the Kioti forum what he thinks of the CK20. It's a real nice tractor. While a 3 range HST is nice, it wouldn't be critical in decision process. I operate in low almost all the time. It's plenty fast enough for most ground work.
The only time I wouldn't opt for the heaviest tractor I could afford is when using for long-term mowing chores on lawns. Heavy tractors can compact the lawn or make ruts (depending on tires). For this reason, my Kioti stays off the lawn as much as I can. If you are going to buy a tractor to mow, and move a little earth, lighter might be best with no loaded tires, where you add weight when needed. But added weight isn't the same as frame/tire weight.
The Kubota B's are pretty nice little tractors. Great all-around machines, especially with a cab when snow blowing is in the mix. But, really light. I don't know that they are, but they look to be narrower too.
I absolutely love my Kioti. It is still the best ground engagement machine for the money.
