So I have clocked about 10 hours so far spreading some mulch and raking a hill that hadn't been touched in several years based on the amount of downed branches etc. Tractor has delivered as promised thus far. Haven't had any issue with overloading the loader with weight, but with the backhoe attached the counterweight is there anyhow. Had a chance to read the manuals and while the presentation is nice the information is rather lacking. Seems to be a very bland manual in my opinion. The only thing that has been frustrating and I was warned ahead of time is that the transmission can be rather sticky at time because it doesn't have synchro's like a manual transmission car so the gears have to be almost perfect before you can move the shifter. MIE warned that it will be tight for a while until things loosen up in the tranny. The one other thing I noticed is that the parking break can be finicky getting it to stick. My property is relatively hilly and I don't need a 3-4 thousand lbs tractor rolling away on me so I find myself trying to set the parking brake frequently wHicham leads to several attempts before it is applied successfully. I will ask the dealer about this when he drops off my grapple. I haven't had much opportunity to use the backhoe yet, but in my little experience with it thus far, the backhoe is smooth and plenty powerful even while the engine is operating at low idle. Loving the tractor so far. Can't wait for the grapple to arrive so that I can get all this brush cut up and moved to the fire pit.

My dealer technician was telling me last week that Kioti hasn't released a service manual for the dealers yet.

Be patient as this is a brand new model for Kioti and surely they will improve the owner's manual. I went to install my rear remotes and had zero info, my dealer found me an online pdf to use.

The brakes on this tractor are far better than expected, in fact quite superb. Over the weekend I used a 6 foot Woods plot seeder to plant a lawn and it is quite a heavy beast.

While backing down a steep embankment the front end simply goes in the air until the seeder rolls hit the ground, just by tilting my right foot on the dual brake pedal I could control the steering backing down that bank with flip-flops on and a beer in one hand cigar in the other(whoops did I just say that?)

So far I really love the way this machine handles all of my attachments though yes the grinding shifts are getting really old. My old machine could be shifted back and forth on the go with no grinding whatsoever. Actually I am starting to think there are no syncros at all in the trans.

Other than that she's been good to report on. Second tank of fuel lasted 10 hours beating it badly with a 6 foot tiller and 8 foot toothed drag behind that full of soil to smooth the ruts. Sorry no pictures of said contraption.

Regards, Fred

Fred does the tractor have enough power for its frame size? I know several people were worried about that.

I don't believe it's 26hp. I'd like to dyno the thing to make sure. My old tractor was the same weight class and the same HP but would run circles around this tilling or mowing. The good news is it can be fixed with a small adjustment if one is willing.

It runs really well now. This tractor is a no brainer for the he who hates tier 4 class of owners that want a new machine less the expensive BS that will fail and be overly priced in 10 years.

Though I have NOT tried one of the 35 horse and up machines I heard one start in the shop and it was oh so smooth and quiet compared to the 26 hp. old time dinosaur engine. Choices for everyone, old and stinky, new and silky smooth no smell empty your pockets down the road machine.

I guess it is like anything else.. There are always plus and minus points to everything.

I will ask the dealer about this when he drops off my grapple.

I found this to be true with my 4105 when it was new. I sprayed all of the pivot points of the braking pedal linkages and the parking-brake lock/un-lock pull. That helped free every thing up.

I also found (and still do) that, even after applying the parking brake lock, I need to push down on the pedal until I feel it 'click' into place... if that doesn't happen then the brake hasn't truly been applied.

As an example, after haying season the folks I was helping loaded my tractor on their lorry to return it to me. When they arrived to unload I noticed that a brand-new tie-down strap at the back of the tractor had chafed... When I hopped up to drive the tractor off I stepped down on the brake pedal to release the 'park' lever and felt it "pop" into 'park'. In other words, they'd inadvertently transported the tractor using just its weight (implements down) and straps to keep it in place.

Lesson learnt.
