CK30 gear shift broken

Hi folks:

CK30 (2008, gear drive 600+ hours)

While operating it yesterday the gear shift lever suddenly became loose. I looked underneath and the pin holding the gear shift lever to a U-shaped bracket was broken. I put a small bolt in the hole just to keep in place temporarily.

There also appears to be something else missing. There is a flange on the shift lever with a small hole and a bracket on the transmission housing. These appear to be related to the gear shift lever. The arrows point to the places I think that something is missing.

I checked the Kioti shop manual diagram for the shift lever and it did not reveal anything that helped. I'm including a picture in the hopes that one of you might be able to identify what is missing. Thanks in advance. DOC

I was guessing that there was some kind of spring there, but there was nothing on the drawing I found in the shop manual.

I see that you have a ck30. Is there a spring in that location on your tractor?

Mine is a CK 30 HST. Probably different, however at the moment I am unable to walk at all to be able to have a look.
Maybe a tension spring to stop rattles or something?
Maybe it went to the bolt that fell out.

It is a spring. My 2008 DK45 has a very similar arrangement for the shifter. Mine has a spring right where your arrows are, and I can certainly see how you would lose the spring if that pin breaks. My parts manual also does not show the spring...go figure!

I was able to look it up on Michigan Iron's web site (link below) although there is still some confusion on my part, as it shows 2 different part numbers. (One of the springs is labeled "Brake Spring" sooo, probably the other one??) I think the people there are very helpful, so it would probably be worth it to call them for advice.
