CK30HST near death experience

I've done it on my CK25hst. Thank goodness I was on level ground. It took me a second to figure out what had happened after the tractor wouldn't move forward. I'm glad I didn't get the sudden wake up call that you did! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
I think the idea of having a shift-lock button on the shift lever is a great idea. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

i was joking about two gears....and suggesting that you have to be very carefull to make sure that it is "locked" in gear. I found that you can sit "on the gear" and also be slightly off the gear because of stiffness. I imagine after more burn in hours on my 25 that this will get better.

Concerning bungee cord idea:It would have to pull forward--meaning it would be in feet/leg range thereby entangling said operator (me) which would likely result in a new pictogram having to be created---me entangled in a bungee cord fallen half way off the tractor with a red circle and a slash thru it. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I have 140 hours on my CK30 HST and it does not get any better when shifting into low range. The lever seems to hit the end of the travel before it goes all the way into gear. Fortunately for me most of my work is on relatively flat land so it has not been a problem but I have experienced this many times and know exactly what you are talking about. I think Kioti should take a hard look at this as it could potently cause major injury in the right circumstances.

LOL... TL sorry man the bungee idea was not a good one, I just thought it could be tied down without entangling with the operator, until the dealer or Kioti look at it...cag

I am not familiar with the design of the shifter but would a simple hasp work as a safety catch? Mount it beside the shifter and flip it over when the shifter is in gear.

The CK30 HST is relatively new; having accumulated approximately 2 years experience in our production fleet, and this is the first occurrence of this nature that has been reported from our customers or dealers.

Kioti shares your concerns on safety, and we are currently in communication with our engineering staff in Korea to further investigate the gear selector location.

Please keep in contact with your dealer for engineering updates as they occur on the CK30 HST.

I have copied you dealer, Sphere Enterprises, on this email so that they are aware of your situation and can inform you of any update as soon as they are available.

would it be possible to post a pic? not familiar with your machine and wonder where the shift lever is so that you could knock it out of gear with your knee?
