CK35 Kioti

Well My Father (and I) just purchased a CK35 - I mean *just* because we're still waiting for it to be un-crated & delivered so I can't give you hands-on experience but I can give you a TON of research and "book smarts". We looked at Mahindra, MF, New Holland (Workhorse and Boomer), Kubota, Kioti, and Branson. Everything from Kubota L3301 to Mahindra 4035, 4025, and 3616 and from dealers in 3 states. Since we're not looking to do any BH work like you are, we opted to stay in the 35HP range. In that specific size range, the CK35 came standard with more "goodies" than any of it's closest competitors (extendable lift arms, crank adjusting lift link, pin style sway bars vs turn buckles, etc) and at the lowest price (by about $2K before taxes).

For some of the work it sounds like you are wanting to do, more horsepower never hurt (there's no REplacement for DISpalcement they say) and someone else already mentioned the increased capabilities of the BH on a larger tractor, but as my dad keeps reminding me... You can do all the same things a large tractor does with a small tractor, it just takes longer.

In the end your wallet will be your guide (unless you're independently wealthy in which case I'm open to being adopted LOL) and I think you will be hard pressed to find more tractor per dollar - esp if you're getting a good deal on a left over 2012.

Good Luck with what ever you pick.

I'm about to trade my blown-engine DK-55 for a CK-35. I had a great WRLong grapple on the DK55 which is def gonna be to large for the CK35. I saw a wicked 50 inch root grapple for $1500. Anybody have any experience with any other 48 inch grapples. I'm guessing 48-50 inches is about all I need right?

Thanks,
Kurt

Yep 50 inch single lid is what you need. I have one one in my avatar. It works well and is light enough to be usable with your new machine.

Those videos never really said if that was the Wicked Grapple. I guess that was it, right?

Yes it is the same grapple I have the single lid 50 inch "wicked" grapple..Although lately they have not called it "wicked". it is just the compact root grapple now.
