Thanks,

I've always got several tubes of dielectric grease handy. We've got 5 atv's and every connector on each of them is filled with the stuff, been using it for years.

I don't think there was any water in this one, but grease will still help.

Problem is back:mad:

I haven't run the tractor in a week, hit 50 hours last time I used it. I went to pull it into the garage to do the 50 hour service and it won't start. The solenoid is not clicking. I pulled the connector, which I filled with dielectric grease after last problem, checked and do have 12 volts on the wire with key on.

I guess the soleniod is sticking and needs to be replaced. I'll be calling the dealer in the morning.

Just checked the previous listing and noticed that nobody mentioned the clutch interlock switch. The only time I have a problem with the solonoid not clicking, it was the plug on the clutch interlock switch.

When my clutch isn't in, the motor won't turn over. Solenoids click when I turn on the key, no matter what position the clutch is in.

The wire to the solenoid goes hot when I turn on the key, so it must be the solenoid.

Dealer had the part overnighted yesterday, but they ordered the wrong solenoid. The solenoid on the front of the injector pump isn't even in the parts manual, went through it myself today.

Dealer called Kioti service and they new exactly which solenoid I needed, seems they got a bad batch and have been seeing some failures recently. They are overnighting me a new one, should be here Monday.

Nice thing is the dealer let me pull the solenoid instead of dragging the whole tractor over. Kioti is shipping the part directly to my house.

Hope this new soleniod solves your starting problem.
Keep us posted on the results.

if it is the new style solenoid, (that mounts INTO - (NOT ON) - the injection pump at the front of the pump), then you can remove the solenoid, hang it over the side or just unplug it, and the engine will start and run. The new style solenoid only kills the engine. with this solonoid, to KILL the engine, you stick your finger in the hole that the solonoid came from and push on a little "button".

I do not recomend opperating the machine with the solonoid removed as you will get dirt and stuff in there.. but it will get you out of a pinch.

An update to my problem.

The solenoid was replaced with a new one, and that didn't fix the problem. Tractor would start intermittenly, but not reliably. Dealer picked up tractor and kept it a week troubleshooting. They got the tractor starting consistently, I think just pulled connectors and cleaned, nothing was replaced.

I used the tractor last weekend for the first time since getting it back, after about 30 minutes it just shut down as I was driving then started back up fine. In a couple hours of work, it shut down around 30 times. Sometimes when trying to restart, the solenoid at the injector pump would just buzz instead of click open, but I was always able to get it to restart eventually.

Dealer picked the tractor up again Tuesday morning and has replaced several relays per Kioti's instructions, should be back today.

This is the 3rd attempt to fix the same problem in 2 months, hope they get it right this time.

Intermittent electrical problems sure are a PITA. Good luck. Eventually you get it solved for good.

Dealer brought the tractor back yesterday, took it today to work on some fire roads at my hunt club. Ran great for 3 hours grading the roads, then shut off 3 times on the way back to my truck. All 3 times within 20 minutes just driving down a paved road with rpms around 2k. Started right back up all 3 times, no buzzing solenoids like last week.

Tomorrow I've got a couple hours of tilling to do, we'll see what happens.

At first it was just an anoyance that I knew would get taken care of, now I'm starting to wonder if I made the right purchase decision.
