I wonder if they'd take a post dated check? Dated 6/21/2076.

I'm in Kenya quite a bit and I've not seen a single John Deere. New Holland is the big seller and I've seen MF as well. China is pushing their tractors too.

I saw (and flagged) the same ad on my area's CL.

I wonder what "trendy obligation" is supposed to mean.

   / Classic Craigslist Scam #11
"trendy obligation" means "I need you to send me money for my current obligations"

What amazes me is how little opportunity someone must have for legitimate income that they would spend the amount of time it takes to register and post this silly stuff that MUST have a response rate in the tiny fraction of a percent.

Well, Craigslist is free and it only takes one sucker to make it worthwhile. At any time on my local listings, there are a couple of tractors, many cargo trailers, a few RVs and some SUVs.

Nothing like trying to take people's money

It's a shame that there is no open season or bounty on those scammers.

I texted but there was no reply.
Was going to offer to overnight him a check so my shipping agent could come pick it up. Rotfl

The worst ones are the ones who reply to your ad on Craigslist saying they want to buy your item. You reply to them then they reply back saying they will send you a cashiers check to cover the cost plus the cost to ship it to them using their freight company that will come pick it up plus an extra $100 for your trouble. They ask you to cash the check and then send them the $500 freight charge back to them by Western Union. I agree and receive their very authentic looking cashiers check in the mail several days later.

Then I do nothing and delete their emails. At least they went through a little trouble and possibly a little cost sending me the fake checks that I now have about 50 of.

I've only ever managed to get one out of them. I figure there is a hierarchy where the dumbest ones do the fishing, and when they get a nibble, they pass it on up to someone with a lick more sense to reel in the sucker and judge whether to go to the expense of sending a check. I usually fail to meet the test at about 2 emails, or I'd have a collection of them too !
