I'm doing MY first change of the hydraulic oil (dealer did the 50-hour). Before so many people posted they used brake cleaner to clean their hydraulic suction screens, I bought some fuel injector cleaner. OK to use that, do ya think?

Thanks.

I used diesel. There really wasn't a whole lot to clean off. Just a few metal chips that I needed to rinse off, no sludge or any other type of residue.

Carb cleaner and brake cleaner are very similar. Brake cleaner is a little nastier and will leave less residue.

Either one is great. I buy the carb cleaner 6 at a time from walmart. I love the stuff and anything that can withstand brake cleaner can withstand carb cleaner.

The GC2300 manual suggests Kerosene as an option. As I have this around, I used it. Seems to work well.

I love carb cleaner too, just be sure nitrile gloves are part of your repretoire. And plenty of ventilation. Wurth company makes an aerosol rubbing alcohol type cleaner thats great for all these duties and gun cleaning and is "less" toxic.
