Cleaning hydraulic oil off a backhoe cab from a leak

Use some dry saw dust to scrub off the oil. Don't use a pressure washer fed from a tank. The direct engine drive pump (usually) requires a positive head. Otherwise the pump cavitates and destroys the plungers. Pumps designed to operate from a tank are usually belt drive so the plungers operate at a slow speed.
my manual states that i can do this. Its the only reason i tried it.

A battery rechargeable pressure washer. A bucket or drum to hold clean water. Dawn dishwashing detergent added thru the injector attachment on the pressure washer. Suds it down - hose it off with the clean water.

Just curious ... A direct engine drive or a belt drive pressure washer ? Sounds like an excellent pump. What brand & model ?

My bucket hose blew out on my backhoe and sprayed oil all over the cab. It was late in the day and I thought I will deal with this on the next trip.
The initial rupture was bad enough but then I had to jockey things to get back into transport mode so I could get it down near the barn. A local farm girl friend suggested Pine Sol works great for hydraulic fluid. I don't have a water well at the place or would just use my pressure washer. I do have water from my spring. I actually have some Pine Sol in the barn that I use as blade lube on the sawmill.

I have a plastic 55 gallon tank that I use for remote power washing. I have reduced one bung hole to 3/4 pipe thread and have a hose bib installed in that 3/4 hole. I put the tank in back of my pickup and fill it with a hose. Drive to wherever I need to power wash and run hose from tank to power washer and get to work. Barrel cost me $8.

Its an Excel pressure washer. Heres a video i just made. I first fill hose with water, usually by immersing in water trough, i use thumb to plug 1 end, install on unit. Place other end in water. This time i just used a 5 gallon bucket cause im not going all the way out to the pasture.

Well most of the oil on the paint was gone. It lingered on the windows but I'll deal with it later as I had more pressing issues removing this hydraulic hose.
Case ?? assuming it's original hose has a sleep crimped on the hose that a metal clamp goes on. Ignore the Tape Monster as the crimp seems to be installed in the wrong spot on the bad hose. Is there a specific name for this fitting? These are the hoses that feed the bucket circuit. Because it is an Extendahoe they are a big loop on the top of the dipper.
The picture with the tape measure you can see the other side in its proper place under the clamp.

My go to fix it for cleaning up that sort of thing is brake cleaner. 2 bucks a can in bulk and it'll get off most anything oil based.

brake clean can be harsh on paint if it bothers you. 5 gallon bucket of water with abundant amount of Dawn soap is safe. use a old car wash mitt and wash it off. Dont have to rinse if you dont have extra water, wait for the next rain to finish it off.
