Cleaning Mildew, Stains from Asphalt Roof Shingles

Pool chlorinating liquid worked prety good for mine. I mix it 50/50 in a pump sprayer. Killed the heavy moss I have on the back side of my shed and light algee growth on my house.

It's also way cheaper than these other name brand products.

Snpower Thanks for starting this thread, the north facing roof of my house suffers from this issue, it’s not real bad but after reading this thread I’m going to start looking for a way to treat mine.

I can't imagine using a pressure washer of any rated pressure to clean my roof! Insurance companies are mandating roof replacement when the roof "appears" to be worn, which is basically the granules that have washed away! I can put up with moss and mildew better than paying for a new roof!
Zinc works great, and if the pitch of your roof isn't much, heavy enough to stay in place. I would think daisy chain them together by drilling a hole in them and bolting them together, or tie them with a good string/rope. Make sure to leave an opening for water to wash the leaves around them, or you will be adding a new problem.
