Winter is much to severe in parts of the country so I am very glad that we an have a humorous thread once in awhile. "vacuum with a lawnmower" :D:D:D however... I wonder if that would work for the kid's rooms? :D

Well anyway here is the very unglamorous way that I get up on the deck. Not nearly as exciting as going through the kitchen.:D

I have to ask as LB did how the heck did he get that thing up there? I did get a chuckle out of runners answer:D To me this look like something bad waiting to happen,
I also have to point out I checked his profile and it does say he is located in Warsaw Poland, maybe this is common there :D:D:D

Although I am part polish myself I will personally stick to shoveling the deck

Yes please dont take my comments the wrong way about Polish people, again my last name is SKPOWSKI so I feel I can get away w/ it just trying to have a little fun. Based on your name I didnt think you were polish. Beleive me sometimes I do things and say its because I am Polish. Yes this is a very commical thread. Be careful in your deck clearing adventures:D

Also since I built the deck I know what kind of support that is under it.

OK, so I'm seriously interested - how IS your deck constructed that it can handle that much load? What's your Tractor weigh?

My Yanmar 1510D only weighs about 1300 lbs so with the RB say about 1500. The deck is constructed of treated 2x10 on 16 in centers with 1X4 deck boards. Here the boards are not milled like in the States so that is a FULL 2x10 and 1x4. The end that I get up on is actually sitting on a block foundation and the rest has cement pilings and 6X6 posts. The ends of the joists that are against the house are sitting in metal saddles with special nails. Plus at the max if it were to collapse, it would drop 3 feet maybe on the high end.

That is why I stated in the first post that this is something that I can do that those with "Real" tractors cannot. Now if it were 15 feet in the air ...

Absolutely NO offense taken--I have been here long enough that people tell me I am half/Pollack--need to change my name to Petersenski. :D

Have fun thinking of what your wife would say to doing somehting like that. :D

I don't know if your familiar with him, but have you ever heard of Jeff Foxworthy?:D

Sorry I forgot to answer this question. I have not heard of him, is he here working in Poland?

No Foxworthy is what they like to call a "red neck comedian" he is here in the states.

As far as this is concerned my wife would kill me. My first tractor was a scut (new holland) with tooth bar on the loader. I only had about 4 hrs. under my belt in total tractor seat time and I was working on the ground around our above ground pool, preparing it for some sod and I was backing up and slightly turning not at all paying attention to the bucket location, all of a sudden I hear a loud screeching sound of metal, turned around (to face the bucket) and noticed the bucket was slightly pushed into the side of the pool about 2' from ground. I was afraid to pull the bucket away from the pool as I didnt want to see the actual damage, as soon as I did it was like a geyser of water shooting out everywhere, needless to say pool was beyond repair and needed complete replacing. Luckily it was covered under my homeowners or I would have been set back 5500 bucks. So I tell you this based on your quote above about the wife as I now have an invisiable barrier my wife has established around the house, pool deck etc... that I am not allowed to enter w/ the tractor :D

Now with about 120 hrs. under the belt (yes still very much a beginner) I can say I have never made that mistake or came close to making anymore if its kind again, sometimes us real pollacks have to learn the hard way :D
