Moose story

22 yrs ago I was sleeping under the stars on Isle Royale when a lady quietly woke me up to point out the big bull moose that was feeding about 10' from my head. I VERY carefully rolled myself (in my sleeping bag) behind a tree! Another night a drunk ranger (off duty) literally walked into one on a dark trail. He was more than a little freeked out! I worked there for a summer and am planning to go back with the family this summer /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. Unfortunately it will cut into the savings for a tractor /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif.

Indeed moose can be /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gifing at times.
If you want to have a little fun w/a moose or a whitetail young deer but not during mating season,just place a good size mirror eye level for them,than watch the fun begin. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Good thing that ranger didn't run into Yogie&Boo Boo raiding a picnic basket etc.. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

That sounds real similar to a time when my wife & I were in Denali Park in Alaska (Savage Creek I think it was). We were just kind of getting up and around. My wife was in her skivies, and I was just kind of laying there. She had just gotten up out of the tent, & some people came by (about 100' from us), and started pointing and pulling out the cameras.

She started to complain to me that these weirdos were trying to take pictures of her in her skivies, when she turns around to face me (still laying in the tent), when she jumps & runs to where the other people are standing. She says "Stay in the tent!"

I look around and standing over the tent is this MAJOR bull moose with a 6' rack! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif !!!!!!!!
