That's not the problem; the question is why infringe on the property owner any more than necessary?

They don't. It's not their fault if some homeowners don't understand the need for them.

I use the orange florescent tape to tie streamers to 2 guy wires on a pole to make them more visible.[/B]
.

I now have just one guy wire on this pole.
One of them was removed about 3 pm today by a woman who ran off the road and went air born twice down through my front yard before landing in a 12 foot deep hole . On her way there she clipped one of the guy wires off the pole.
The pole is 40 feet from the edge of the black top state highway.

What happened to the woman and the car?

I'm just glad It wasn't any worse that it was.
She could have pulled down the elect. pole and that could have pulled the mast elect. meter and fuse panel off my garage and tore up the corner of the garage.
Andy this is the same ditch and big deep hole I was talking about recently in a couple of other threads.
This is why the ditch and the big deep hole needs filled in.
They are a safety hazard to the motorist and even to me when I'm in my front yard.
I'm just glad that I wasn't turning into or out of my driveway at the time or down there covering up the culvert with the tractor like I was when I installed it.
Had it happened then my tractor would have been wiped out and me rite along with it.
It's sorta scary when you stop to think about it.

Looks like to me the lady is a safety hazard to motorists and you!!! The road is 40' away???
If the road was on a cliff and it dropped off on one side, would they need to fill up the valley below??
What would have happened if she stayed on the road?

NO; but that's a different situation than what I have here.

I truly don't want to offend anyone, but if there's a hole in your front yard, act accordingly and don't fall in. You have to be responsible for your own safety. That's not a comment on you nearly as much as it is on American society.

The hole is about 30 ' long 25 ' wide and 12 ' deep.
It's on my property but is in the state Rite of Way.
They have a large culvert at the bottom going under the road so I can't just haul in trucks of dirt and dump them in it.

This hole keeps getting bigger every time you mention it!

Have you contacted ODOT or any other department at the state level concerning this issue? How about the county engineer's office? I assume it's a state issue though, since you live on a state route.

Do you have any pictures of this so others can understand what you are describing?
