Congrats! If you don't mind me asking, where in central PA? I live near a covered bridge, maybe we're neighbors.

I ordered turf tires for mine but am 2nd guessing if I should get the "industrial" tires...any experience with the R1 tires and how they are for mowing?
And by industrial, do they mean the hardcore "ag" tread pattern or the one in between with the horizontal tread bars?
I do a lot of mowing so will the industrial tires be just as good as turfs?
On my previously, owned BX24 I had turfs and they performed well for all tasks...funny thing was I never mowed with the BX24.
Thanks for your ideas and insight on the tires and their differences!

My covered bridge was lost to fire many years ago. About a 100 mi NW of Duncannon.

I have R1 (Ag, Bar) tires on my BX1500. If you have a manicured lawn, you probably don't want R1's, as they can chew up the turf. My "lawn" is mostly wild grasses and weeds, so it doesn't bother me at all if it gets chewed up a little bit, although the only times I can recall disturbing the turf was when it was already compromised by dampness or general instability. I don't ever recall chewing up good, solid, dry turf with the bar tread, but others have commented that it can happen, especially when operating in 4WD. My goal is maximum traction for slopes, snow and ground engaging work. Industrial tires (R4) have the less aggressive horizontal tread bars you referred to. I have no experience with these, but I have seen others post here that they believe industrial tires are preferable to turfs due to superior traction in wet and muddy conditions and low potential for damage to turf due to the relatively light weight of these machines.

I have both R4's and Turfs for my BX2660. I'm selling the Turfs this spring. I find the R4's don't do anything to my lawn and having an extra $350 set collecting dust is $ I'd rather in my pocket. I find also when I do loader work under my pines where no grass grows, the turfs are slick.

Thanks for the replies on tires...I have decided to stay with turfs, loaded, and my main reason is this winter has been an "ice follies" here...
Having had turfs on my last BX, and never having an issue with traction in any condition except maybe mud, which I don't foresee happening to any great degree
on my acreage...I may invest in some "2 link" spaced chains to deal with any future ice follies! :D

Still waiting for mine. Ordered BH and FEL dollies and bucket hooks from BXpanded Monday. If everything works out dollies will arrive before the tractor.
