"I just turned 40 hours on my 3325. I mowed 4 acres Sunday a week ago. I took me 4 hours with my finishing mower. I used slightly under 4 gallons of fuel.

I love my 3325.

Wish I had bought a new tractor a few years ago. I loved my Allis Chalmbers WD-45 but my Mahindra 3325 is much nicer. Not as much horse power 45 hp verses 35 in the 3325 but you would never know the difference in the power."

Don

Don, just curious, why you chose the 3325 over the 3525. When I was buying, the Mahindra salesman downplayed the single-stage clutch and lack of power-steering on the 3325, so I paid the extra $1,000 and bought the 3525. After 100 hours, mostly mowing, I have to admit that both those options on the 3525 are nice.

My 5525 now has 14 hrs on the clock. I did Box blading around the pool to get it ready to seed. It moves the box blade full of dirt with the teeth down at an idle. I bought the box blade from the Mahindra dealer, it's a 6' one of unknown origin, looks like all paint was gone. No teeth.

I wire brushed, primed and painted it a red very close to Mahindra Red. I also found some new rippers in a farm store. With the rippers and paint job it looks new. Since there is not any name or color I am thinking it would be neat to put Mahindra logos on it. Anyone know where I might find decals?

Your nearest Mahindra dealer should be able to find decals that would fit.

Here's a photo of my 5525 and old NH 467 mower-conditioner mowing second crop hay today.

I'll be joinng the "25" soon. Ordered the 5525, 260 FEL and custom subframe mounted 509 BH. Should be ready in a few weeks.I'll be interested to see how it keeps up with my '74 Massey 165.

Anybody use a bh on a 5525?

Here's a pic of mine from last Sunday after a few hours of clearing 4 wheeler trails, etc for this year's upcoming deer season...29 hours on the clock now. I took the air hose to the tractor and blew off all the dust, otherwise it would have looked a lot like the 'hog:D It wasn't too dusty until I got out into the cornfield to make a trail (shred the stalks so they won't puncture the ATV tires). IT'S DRY... WE NEED SOME RAIN!!

The 'hog and the FEL make a deadly combination for all the briars, bramples, multiflora roses and other nasty stuff that grows up back in the woods throughout the year. Now I can put it in reverse and back the 'hog over the stuff first... couldn't do that with the 8N.

I have been thinking about a 5525 for general bushhogging, deer food plots and maintenance on 130 acres. After reading some posts about the 3525's I am wondering if the 3525 might be all I need and be easier to handle in the timber. Land is basically flat and I currently use a 6' bushhog. Do you think the 3525 would pull a 3 bottom plow or 8' disk in average soil conditions? I don't want to buy a new tractor and then wish I had bought the larger. Either way I will add the FEL.

As far as running the 6' bushhog, the 3525 will definitely run it... Mine can't hardly tell that the 5 footer is back there.

I haven't had my plow hooked up to my tractor yet, but knowing that my 8N would pull 2 bottoms pretty easily (after you get the plow set up correctly), and knowing that the 3525 is in a whole different league as far as power is concerned (even though the 8N "is" 23HP PTO vs. the 3525 @ 27 PTOHP...) I'd say that you shouldn't have any trouble pulling 3 bottoms in normal soil conditions. What size are your bottoms, 12, 14, 16"? My Dearborn 2 bottom is 2 14's, and my 8N pulls it pretty easily since I finally got it set right...Last time I used it I was plowing virgin sod 6 to 8" deep in 2nd gear on the 8N. So, I don't think the 3525 will have much trouble with 3 14's.

As far as the 8' disk... hmmm, I just don't know. When I was back on the farm, we had a 12' pull disk that we pulled mostly with the AC 190 (77HP IIRC) and that was a good match to that tractor. I'm kind of leaning toward the 8' disk being close to too big for the 3525... just gut feeling though. I don't think you would have any trouble at all with the 5525 on that disk though.

I've seen the 5525, and physically, it isn't that much bigger than the 3525... a little longer, mostly from what I remember. I'm taking care of about 95 acres (doing basically the same things you're doing) with my 3525 and it's more than adequate. The 8' disk is the only thing that you're doing that makes me want to steer you toward the 5525.

See if you could get your dealer to bring one out to demo, and hook it to that disk and see how it does... That's the best advice I could give you at this point ;)

*BUMP*:)

Come on all of you 25 Series guys, Check in here!!:D

Just did the 50 Hour service on my 3525 today... changed the power steering oil and filter, checked tranny oil and hyd oil levels, checked radiator level and hoses, and changed the oil in the air filter cup. WOW, that air filter cup is a booger to get out of there without dumping oil everywhere. On the upside, there wasn't hardly anything at all in there as far as debris, so I think I'll extend that interval to 100 hours to coincide with my oil changes. The PreCleaner catches probably 95% of all the dust, so I don't think there will be a problem with that.

How many of you 3525 guys have changed the power steering oil/filter as prescribed in the 50 hour service? My dealer said my 3525 is the 8th one he's sold, and I'm the first one to buy a PS filter. That is one pricey little filter, $20.25. OUCH.

And, how many switched over to Dexron/Mercon for the power steering? I didn't... I used AW ISO68 hydraulic oil. All the placards on the tractor indicate hydraulic oil, and the initial fill was with hydraulic oil, so to me it just didn't seem right to switch over to ATF.

Everything is A-OK so far at the 50 hour mark (actually, I'm at 46.7... but with winter coming, and 72 deg temps today, it's a good day to get it done!)
