clutch replacement

I have a Branson 3510i that had a bad throwout bearing. I was able to split the tractor apart. I wanted to have the flywheel machined before reassembling but the flywheel has a secondary damper disk (similar to the damper spring assembly on the clutch disk) that covers the bolts that fasten the flywheel to the output shaft of the engine. I cannot seem to get this additional damper disk off the flywheel. I have removed the socket head cap screw that appear to be what fastens it to the flywheel but is stuck solid. I am concerned about applying too much force to it due to it seem to be constructed of sheet metal. The manuals I have are no help. I have tried to contact the dealer but they don't seem inclined to return my call. On top of all that I don't see any reference to this secondary disk in my manuals that came with the tractor. Appreaciate any help.

Is there some hidden fasteners? Check them. If you're sure that all fasteners are removed, try gently tapping the edge of the damper disk with a rubber mallet. This can help break any corrosion or seal that might be holding it in place without damaging the metal.

Thanks Linda. I have tried that. I also have sprayed the disk edges with penatrating oil. So far no joy. I have noticed that there are some roll pins that position the disk. I think I might try removing these pins. Thanks for the advise!

If you think they're stuck together with either rust or some dried assembly lube, electrolysis is usually an easy way to loosen everything up. Requires a little bit of setup work, a few days to soak and do it's thing, but I've gotten many antique machines apart by setting them in a RubberMaid trash can with some electrodes and washing soda.

I have noticed that there are some roll pins that position the disk. I think I might try removing these pins. Thanks for the advise!

It does look like the roll pins connect the two pieces. If that is the case, spray a TINY bit of lube in the roll pins and start to wiggle and pry the clutch off.
