considering what I know (about CNC) and what I've read here...me thinks that 'grsthegreat' will be a much better source of viable information for getting your system set up...

I mostly write command and control software using standard system (shell) language...I am not familiar with CAD etc. design programs...

THANK YOU!!! Good advice .. Sounds like practice, practice and practice .. Then practice till you get it .. To start with I need my grapple hooks so I can cut them out .. 22 per set and average 25 sets per yr .. If I accomplish nothing more than that I'll be happy!!

ok, MACH3 is the software that actually controls your plasma cutting head. It uses the cutting codes generated from lazycam (mine uses enroute3 to create cutting codes)

Inkscape appears to be a basic drawing program and creates the vector (trace) images youll need and Designsight appears to be a free CAD emulating program

i went ahead and downloaded draftsite and inkscape... ill play around with them. im always looking for new cad software. i wasn't familiar with these. and heck..there free

If you need any help with you dxf files just shoot me an message. That's what I've done for the past 10 years for GE. I run a hypertherm 400xd. Do you know what kind of file extention your controller uses for nesting. For example. .eia or .cnc

I've been reading all I can on that site .. It's kinda like ... Telling a new to the CNC deal ... Hold the mail with the head in the proper position
