I think you can classify this post under T*R*O*L*L. Why else would someone named "DodgeMan" want to post a purely speculative thread about SOMEONE ELSE'S truck?

The problem is going to get solved on an Internet forum? Don't think so...but it gives the chance to bash a product and speculate a lot.

I wouldn't call DodgeMan a troll. He is normally pretty open in his posts and not completely against other brands. Now if RoadHunter posted it then I would agree with you.

Well, you would be wrong. You can look at my past posts and see I'm a serious poster and have been for a while.
I was hoping someone had some experience in this area with the 6.4 Fords. I've been seeing them struggle with this truck for a few months now and so far the dealer has been taking care of them but I see signs they may not this time. I don't have hard numbers but I would bet the repair costs on this truck are closing in on 20k. I would have demanded a different truck by now.

They are a young couple and I think they are both nice people and I don't want to see them eat the cost of $27,000 truck.

I have to agree, not a troll.

Bottom line is his friends bought a truck that had been abused and dumped on the used market and now they are paying.

Yup, seen this story before..Problem is you get so buried you don't want to get out.. I fully understand that.

For a 6.4 to have metal shavings doesn't mean abuse in particular, they are very sensitive to water in fuel. The water in fuel light may have never came on.
Dumped? Maybe or just bad luck.

Thanks everyone for saying I'm not a troll.

DP, I'm afraid you hit the nail on the head. They paid for the extended warranty so far they haven't had to pay for anything. Im not sure the dealership and the warranty company aren't having a few go arounds as to who pays what. I also think the mechanic at the dealership is about ready to throw in the towel.

Did they buy it from the dealership that has been servicing it? If so maybe the dealership will step up and give them a good deal on trade for another truck.
