Good Morning Thomas...

We ran out of half and half yesterday morning... the kids left for school... and no one to go to the store so early...

So I reached in the freezer and took a 2 small spoonfuls of Marble Fudge ice cream and mixed with my am blend of Eight O'Clock Columbia bean & Arabica bean....

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm deeeeeeeeeeelicious.... /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif

Couldn't help but think of you, Thomas, when I got this e-mail this morning:

SIGNS THAT YOU'VE BEEN DRINKING TOO MUCH COFFEE...

Juan Valdez names his donkey after you.

You ski uphill.

You get a speeding ticket even when you're parked.

You answer the door before people knock.

You just completed another sweater and you don't know how
to knit.

You grind your coffee beans in your mouth.

You have to watch videos in fast-forward.

You can take a picture of yourself from ten feet away
without using the timer.

You lick your coffeepot clean.

You spend every vacation visiting "Maxwell House."

You're the employee of the month at the local coffeehouse
and you don't even work there.

The nurse needs a scientific calculator to take your pulse.

Your T-shirt says, "Decaffeinated coffee is the devil's brew."

You're so jittery that people use your hands to blend their
margaritas.

You can type sixty words per minute with your feet.

You can jump-start your car without cables.

Cocaine is a downer.

All your kids are named "Joe."

Your only source of nutrition comes from "Sweet & Low."

You go to AA meetings just for the free coffee.

Starbucks owns the mortgage to your house.

I LOVE this thread /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif!! I'm an old Navy guy, and I learned to drink coffee the Navy way - if it oozed out of the spicket, it was too weak /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. But ever since then, I've been a coffeeholic.

I was the Scoutmaster for a Boy Scout troop for seven years. One year we had an open house for new scouts and their parents. We had mock campsites set up complete with camp kitchens. At each site, we had veteran scouts stationed to answer questions. I happened to be standing behind a camp kitchen (the scout didn't know I was there), when a guest asked him what it was that the scout needed to do first thing in the morning. The guest was expecting the scout to say something like "Build the campfire"! Without batting an eye, the scout says - "Make the Scoutmaster's coffee!" /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I have to give the scout credit - he wasn't lying /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif!

A few weeks ago my boss returned from a business trip to New Orleans and said he had bought some coffee, based upon recommendations from the locals. He had tried it and, as he put it, it gave him the jitters. He was used to drinking half regular coffee and half decaf. Since he knew I liked coffee (long time Green Mountain Coffee Roasters customer, he offered it to me. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The coffee came from Cafe Du Monde and it's a mixture of coffee and chickory. I recalled my dad telling me years ago that they used to add chickory to coffee to make the coffee last longer, kind of a filler. So, I was dubious of this but since it was free, and since it was my boss, how could I refuse. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Well, if you like a strong, good tasting coffee, with a great after taste, try some Cafe Du Monde Coffee and Chickory. I love my GMCR coffee, but this Lousiana favortite is great, too.

I spent some time in Costa Rica a few years back. I toured some coffee plantations and factories. I became hooked on CR coffee. I now order it by the case (much cheaper and usually free shipping) from http://www.cafebritt.com/
I like the dark roast.
