COLD STARTING

On your average night, you'll be freezing without a cab. I've been lucky, despite some record cold this January, some days never got beyond single digits & the nights were brutal, I never had to move snow during the extreme cold.

Dont want to be rude, but wind chill does not effect the starting of the tractor. The temp does but not wind chill.

No but, it definitely affects whether you feel like going out & using the tractor.

SJM I have to hit the glow plug a half dozen times to get my 4110 started when it's +30. Maybe I need to be calling my dealer. Being new at diesel and tractors I thought this was just the way it was.

I would guess that you have some glow plugs no working, as I have started 4110's on my lot in below zero weather.

This is an old thread but, I've noticed Kioti CK owners discussing cold start issues. The 10 series Mahindra also has Daedong (Kioti) engines and I've never had an issue starting in the cold, even below zero. It does run like a typical cold diesel but, let it warm up, no problem.
I do wonder if other Mahindra dealers have had any complaints with the 10 series in the cold.

Thanks LAWALLSTRACTOR, I'll give my dealer a call and see what he suggests. My 4110 is still under warranty.
On another note. That, as a dealer, you take enough interest to help so many is appreciated. Don't know that you guys hear that enough.
Thanks again

Just started my 2810 the other day at 2 degrees F and windchill of -10. I had to cycle the glow plugs 2 times but she started fine. I let her sit for @ 20 minutes to warm up and then only used her at 1/2 throttle for @ 45 minutes moving snow. No heating of any type, would like to get a heater for the block someday, but so far so good.

Not to question , But the manual for my mew 2615 said; "Do not run engine at lower idle in cold temps as the temp does not get into the warm range and engine damage could result..." even at 1800 rpm's, I'm barely in the green.
