Looks like that weather is coming our way later this week. Forecast calls for a high of 3 and a low of -18 with high winds on Thursday. My kind of weather!

Boy Murph, you're sure right there! That was quite a game. Gotta hand it to Seattle, they played one heck of a game.

Philly will be tough, but they are missing their one of their biggest threats, aren't they (other than McNabb that is)? Is that Warren or Warick, or something like that? I remember hearing one of the analyists mention that yesterday.

I think Favre mentioned that the way Seattle played was a wakeup call for the team. He said that maybe they weren't playing quite as well as they thought they were, and they'd need to "kick it up a notch" for next week. And historically, it seems the Pack comes back stronger the week after not playing as well as they should have. Hopefully, that'll be the case next weekend. If they don't play better, I have a bad feeling that they'll get beaten. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I do the same thing when the Pack's not playing. It's like cheering for the high school from the other side of town when your school isn't playing. Hey, they're from your town, aren't they?? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Bob - Sorry your thread got hijacked a little here! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Let's get back on topic, and figure out what kind of fish Favre likes best. After all, he does LOVE fishing!! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Pete,

I was worried about my outdoor dogs last night so I put nice plush rugs inside their insulated houses. The one that does sleep in the house had kicked the rug outside and the other two were sleeping on top of the house (like Snoopy).

I guess it was their way of telling me they don't think it's that cold.

Garry,

No apologies necessary. I was probably a little premature in starting the thread so it's bound to stray. Besides--I'm like Murph--if my team can't win, I like to have a conference rival make a nice run.

By the way--St. Paul is having the NHL (talking Hockey now) all star game hear this winter. It's coinciding with our Winter Carnival and they are building an Ice Castle. As we speak, they are harvesting blocks of ice (from local lakes) to build this thing. If I get to St. Paul during the carnival--I'll take some pics of that too.

The larger perch are biting as well as an occasional walleye. Next weekend will be the first we can get out past the ice crack which usually means much better fishing--although I don't mind the perch--they taste as good as walleye.

Pete, you're not a well man. ( Forecast calls for a high of 3 and a low of -18 with high winds on Thursday. My kind of weather!)

Our puter weatherbug tells me it's twenty outside with a high since midnight of twenty seven. The girl on the telly is talking about a high today of thirty five.

Yesterday it started off in the high twenties and got to the high thirties. It was cold enough. Cold enough for the battery to puke in Iris.

What made it kewel was a hundred and four dollars later the new battery turned out to be weaker than the old one. A return trip to the auto parts store and another battery. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Number three spun that little fifty horse diesel like it was warmed up and the sun was shining with an ambient in the seventies. But my work day didn't get started until almost lunch. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

So this morning I'll go buy a new box of rod because today would be a good day to spend some quality time in the truck before I wallow in the cold. Then I'll get to break the ice off the water barrel and mix some concrete for setting posts.

I don't mind cold. I just don't like the cold that's below forty degrees............ABOVE zero!

Hope it stays low enough to get good ice. Sure would like to drown a few b-moths.

With the temperatures out now it's time for some equipment brochures, hot rum, log on the fire and a big comfy easy chair in which to enjoy all the former.
