WOW, that is some quality work, and I like how you have executed it. Could we see a picture of the quick hitch parts. I would like to design this for my tractor and could use some ideas from your project. Thanks Jason

The quick-attach part really just duplicates the John Deere quick-attach bucket design. Is that what you'd like a picture of? I implemented it a little differently than they did, but close.
Once the Base frame is quick-tached on, the gin pole bolts onto that, or the Personell Lift can be driven up to, lower tines slide thru pipe section receivers on the Lift, and I add two bolts. I haven't actually assembled the Lift since painting, but will be soon to do some tree trimming. I will try to get a picture of that then.
If you can describe which other details interest you, I will be glad to show more detail.

Yes, I would like a picture of where the quick tach connects with the base of the fork or the back of the loader bucket. I'm interested in how it attaches so I would have an idea of how to contruct one. For instance, does the base part of the implement go into a 'cup' or something like it and the top of the base gets a pin through some hole to lock it into place? I would like tocontruct something that is easy to connect/detach yet stong enough not to come undone.

Once again I would like to say nice job, I can appreciate the work that went into it.

jasonf Thanks for responding.

"When you see the box with the red X in it, I always do a right click then click on SHOW PICTURE, not PROPERTIES. The picture then appears. Have you tried this ?"

Yes Jason, I've tried that. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. It's got me baffled.

At any rate, I on my home puter now with W98 and everything is working fine. The pictures are great and the work is simply outstandig.

Thanks Jim for sharing. Really quality work there. I'll definitly be experimenting with some of your ideas.

Here is a photo showing some of the details you may be looking for Jason. Another photo will follow. It may be necessary to go to a JD dealer to get the whole idea. Ask if questions...

Here's another shot. This shows it attached to the loader boom. Notice the Lynch pins at the bottom, dropped through the machined stub shaft pcs.
I made the upper curved receiver fittings by starting with some 1" pipe sections. and once the shape was obtained, I added the huge gussets you see, on each side of the pipe sections. Those gussets go down inside the front of the vertical channels, are welded vertically to the channels. Hopefully you can see how my solution is probably overkill compared to the JD stock bucket fittings. They used a couple of pcs of formed flat iron. Sometimes I get carried away, all in fun.

Jim,

Very nice work! Your work makes me envious of your skills.

There have been discussions here on TBN about welding but none of them really stirred any motivation to learn to weld, until this. Now have a new skill to learn this year.

I disagree, the stock JD piece is not heavy enough. Your soultion looks much better !!!! Thanks for taking the time to get the pictures to me. I have saved them and will be using them when I make up a quick hitch later this summer. Please keep us informed of your progress on each new project. I have a Lincoln Arc welder in the basement and will hopefully put it to good use this summer. Thanks again for the effort, great job /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Action shot. This was a live Oak tree. This stuff was heavy. the pcs shown in the grapple are about 7 feet long each. There were three small loose piles, I scooped up the first, dumped it onto the second, etc, until I had them all. One fell out, but otherwise what you see was one load. Made short fun work of the tree trimming cleanup.
