I ordered a M59 on Dec. 30th, It finally arrived today. Seem to me it took forever to get here. It seem to be a nice tractor. My question is the dealer submitted the order through to Kubota they sent the dealer an email back giving a build date and approximate time for completion. So I wondered if it was going to be a 2012 model since it was being built in Jan. 2012. I got the tractor today, and of couse it had all the white stickers everywhere. The front bucket had 08/08/2011, the backhoe bucket had 08/06/2008, the tires had 01/2012, and so on, every little sticker had a different date. So I look on the frame right beneath where the engine sits and it is stamped in the frame MFG 2008, haven't seen the motor serial # yet. Do I have this thing pieced together, or maybe the factory has been sitting on this equipment since then, and hasn't used them. I hate to know I ordered a new tractor and my frame is stamped 2008. Do I have a 2008 tractor or is it 2012? I also made clear that I did not want a tractor that was transferred from another dealer.

You have a new M59 (congratulations), tractors go by models and not by years like automotive does.

Post pictures...

Yes, you have a 2012 tractor. Says so on your 'bill of sale'.

Did you know that every drop of water on earth had already been through a dinosaur's bladder.

I get a kick out of that one.

How do Kubotas arrive at the dealer? I know the core tractor (meaning larger than B) comes from Japan, but are they containerized less tires, etc., and does the dealer only install the tires? I know the loader comes from Georgia but is it shipped to the dealer separate or do the pick out a kit at a depot, like M5100, check, fronts, rears, loader, bucket, etc., and then send it to the dealer? If that is the case one can easily understand why you can get this month's tires, a 2 year old bucket (may not be a fast moving size), a 6 month old loader, etc. at my Cat plant we built ahead on base machines during the winter and then had pin-on options (defined as fewer than 4 man hours to install) that would get added to a specific order just before the truck took it out the gate, but not all plants are that way. Like if you buy a 400 ton dump truck it goes out as a complete dealer kit because you can't ship something that size from central IL in one piece by any means.

This is how mine came to the dealer.

I have a lemon, so I have a conspiracy theory on this. Kubota put these things out there in 2008 and it is geared to contractors like me. Well in 2008 the construction industry crashed. Contractors have very little money to spend on new equipment so a lot of new 2008 are still out there. Mine sat on a lot for two years before I got it(41k). If you look at used ones online most are low hour. Mine has 150 hr and can't stay out of the shop because of hydraulic issues. I use it full throttle digging for hours at a time when I use it.. My theory is this tractor is a new platform and the beefed up flow on this thing hasn't got the bugs worked out of it because most of the owners are land owners that putt them around, not using them like they are branded by kubota as being a full size tlb replacement. So I very well think you have an '08. I know of a new ' 08 just sold o few months ago.

Hersheyfarm, I think you are right. I just bought a M59 and took delivery 12/03/11. I cannot get the Dealer to show me A number on the tractor that depicts a build of 2011. My insurance company wanted too know also. The dealer just keeps saying (IT IS WHAT YEAR IT IS SOLD IN) B.S. , I wanted too get a model yr. other than 08 because Kubota had some hydraulic pump problems in that yr. So only time will tell, or hours will tell.

Please tell me what you know about the pump issue. I am on my second set and the issues are coming back. Oh , and I think you have to use the serial # as the order it was built.mine is 50222. Not sure how to decifer it tho.
