My service tech said the early build did have a pump issue. He got this info from the kubota engineering rep I have gotten involved. Do you have any issue with hooking your boom with the lock? I notice I have less issue when cold, after running and issues hit it is near impossible to lock and unlock.

You are describing exactly the same issue I had with my M59 backhoe. The boom cylinder would retract the last inch or so and so the boom would not latch. The fix was done by Kubota at their expense and was a 100% repair. It's not something I would want to do by myself.
