That's what I want to hear, higher hours. Do you dig at 2700rpms?

Hersheyfarm, I think you are right. I just bought a M59 and took delivery 12/03/11. I cannot get the Dealer to show me A number on the tractor that depicts a build of 2011. My insurance company wanted too know also. The dealer just keeps saying (IT IS WHAT YEAR IT IS SOLD IN) B.S. , I wanted too get a model yr. other than 08 because Kubota had some hydraulic pump problems in that yr. So only time will tell, or hours will tell.

I have the numbering information in the manuals at home. I'll look up the info next weekend. From memory you can determine the information you are looking for from the tractor serial numbers. PM me if I forget.

Hersheyfarms... I don't dig at 2700 rpms more like 1800 to 2000. I don't have 650 hours. No hydraulic problems. I run the chipper at 2500 for hours at a time. Sorry to hear of your troubles. If you think oil temperature is a problem why not monitor the oil temperature. What in the oil pump is failing? I'll take a look at the pump information in the Kubota hydraulic shop manual I have. Anyone know the type of pump? gear pump? Are the 3 pt levers pushed completely into the correct position? If we step back this is a rather straight forward system. Perhaps looking at the pump(s) is not the problem but the result. What else in the system loop might cause excessive pressure on the pump? Valve elsewhere in the loop... front aux with one on the electric select buttons stuck without anything attached....

I guess my thought is to look thru the entire system. Pump or relief valve may be the result not the problem.

I'll scan the hydraulic circuits from the hyd shop manual and PM them to you.

I ordered a M59 on Dec. 30th, It finally arrived today. Seem to me it took forever to get .... .... .... .... I also made clear that I did not want a tractor that was transferred from another dealer.

just curious. What is your objection to a dealer transfer?

Please tell me what you know about the pump issue. I am on my second set and the issues are coming back. Oh , and I think you have to use the serial # as the order it was built.mine is 50222. Not sure how to decifer it tho.

what I know about the pump issue is only what I have read on the internet. Of course, I can't remember where I read it because of bad memory. What I read was some brass fittings in the pump were breaking away and clogging up the relief valves, or holding them open. This was supposedly just the '08 models. It looks to me that Kubota built Many of these thinking they would sell, but didn't because of the economy. So the ones we are ordering, thinking they are fresh from the factory are actually the ones Kubota has had in stock for 4-yrs. Lets just hope they have discovered the pump problem and are not shipping out tractors with the defective pump.

Mine's a 2008 model. Serial # 50419. Very early build. I haven't heard anything about a problem with the hydraulic pump, and my dealer is pretty responsible. They aren't perfect about sharing info, but I think I'd have heard. We did have a problem with the BH lift cylinder. The dealer called the Kubota area rep who was aware of there being some defective cylinders. They shipped a new one in and replaced it the same week. I didn't take the old one apart to find out what the problem was.

So far I'd have to say the M59 is a very good machines and no more perfect than anything else mechanical. If you are really that disappointed, why not cancel the deal and reorder to get what you want?

Yes I will dig up towards 2500 when I need full power/speed, however I often bring down the RPM to gain more control.

The only time we've ever hit max RPM's on the Kubota was traveling on the road. BTW: An L3940 can hit 18 mph.

OT: Loader work is usually done at about 1800-2000 and Auto Throttle is on and if you need more RPM's they're there when you need them.

My service tech said the early build did have a pump issue. He got this info from the kubota engineering rep I have gotten involved. Do you have any issue with hooking your boom with the lock? I notice I have less issue when cold, after running and issues hit it is near impossible to lock and unlock.
